    Broner hit the deck few times if I remember.

    I not sure about the rest of you but I would rather stay on my feet the entire fight throw shots back and forth rather than being buzzed and dropped most of the fight. Maidana made his name from the Broner figh but,, he was beaten in a close fight against Floyd where fought very dirty (rabit punches, knees, low-blows, head-butts, etc) and Floyd still fought him toe to toe.

    I am not a Floyd fan and I thought that he would have an easier night but still, Maidana was almost wrestling and Floyd could have made this night easier if he had stuck and moved like he did with Corrales.

    He was still countering despite being swarmed and did take the fight to the middle of the ring. Withstanding Maidana's assault is also another thing Mayweather deserves credit for, he pretty much took everything Maidana threw at him and stayed there till Maidana ran out of steam. Broner wasn't able to take what Maidana offered and was knocked down and hurt numerous times.

    Do you even know what "schooled" means in boxing?

    Broner did better at times in terms of flashy skill, but Mayweather was so much smarter with his use of arms and elbows, and more effective, and he Won....

    Floyd at Broner's age was faster and more devastating than Adrien. No question.

    Both Mayweather and Maidana were fighting dirty in there. Mayweather will his elbows and forearm and Maidana with his low blows, punches to the back of the head..etc. It was a classical ugly fight between a slickster and an aggressor which is how it's supposed to be if the aggressor wants to compete.

    Yeah I sure do. Maidana remained as cool as a cucumber throughout the buildup. He didn't talk smack, he just went in there and went to work. He didn't exactly put on a clinic of the sweet science, seeing as he's a brawler, but he certainly did beat Broner in humiliating fashion, knocking him down and beating him up, to the point where Broner was so hurt he couldn't even do a post fight interview. Vs Floyd, he took the fight to Floyd. We seen Floyd in a more vulnerable state then we seen Floyd in a long time, possibly ever.

    I wouldn't say he schooled Mayweather, but Broner definitely. I still say Broner had better success in spots against Maidana than Mayweather.

    That's not considered schooling. "Schooling" is when you completely outclass an opponent using natural boxing ability and skills. What Maidana did was overwhelm and smother Broner off as any successful aggressive fighter would.

    Yeah I think that's fair. I mean I think early on he kinda did make Mayweather look very ordinary, in that way he was kinda schooling him but in the 2nd half Mayweather kinda schooled him back. Broner did have some impressive offense vs Maidana. I think Maidana's a pretty dangerous guy to be in there against, I mean part of the reason Broner had more success offensively vs Maidana was because he is not as committed to defense as Floyd is. The more you risk creating offense, the more you risk getting hit. Broner found that out and Floyd was prepared for that. Maidana, you know, vs Floyd overwhelmed him in the 1st half that Floyd didn't even have time to get off because he was so busy slipping and blocking punches.

    @Scar

    You can have success, without having ULTIMATE success, Broner had success against Maidana just not the ULTIMATE success.

    That's true. However, he(Broner) can't be considered doing better when the one we're comparing him to had the ULTIMATE success.

    You're right, I agree it was a stretch to say Maidana schooled Floyd, but he kinda did school Broner, but I also think it's a stretch to say Broner did better than Floyd vs Maidana.

    I disagree though that any successful aggressive fighter would be able to overwhelm and smother Broner. Maidana has a completely unique style, he not only throws a lot of punches and comes forward, but he throws punches and odd angles that Floyd or Broner had never seen before. Maidana also very skilled at slipping punches, and turning when Floyd does his usual boxing moves. Maidana was able to "move with Floyd", and end up right in front of him that no other brawler was able to do. Hatton was a very aggressive brawler and he had some success but fell for Floyd's traps.

    So in that sense Maidana is not your typical brawler and is much more skilled, so I think that's where the schooled saying fits Maidana more than the average brawler especially considering what he was able to do vs Broner and Floyd.

    You misunderstood me there shadow111 or my post was just poorly worded. I didn't mean "any" aggressive fighter in the literal sense.
