Once again, unless the commentators on the show you are watching are speaking German, then the quality of the promotion has nothing to do with 'Europe' (you know that's not a country right? Just checking...)

Its to do with culture, we dont need screaming commentators, epic hype and buildups etc. Listen to british football commentry and then listen to american, completely different. Culture is reflected in sport. German boxing (even the styles of the boxers) effective, things get done, it is what it is, like a well oiled machine. American commentry is much more 'exiting' and there is much more of a show in the build up (Although the UK does this also)

    Cobbler,

The German based show last week with Klit and Sosnowski had an Englishman doing the commentary so "US" American's could understand what the hell was going on besides the obvious in the ring.....

Point is, the pre-fight hype and build-up with these overseas promoters and announcers come off bland as all hell here in the States........ IMO!

Look, I am of German and Danish heritage.......... I don't give a flying duck if folks from overseas fail to see the light from here in America..... The issue still stands, the recent European PPV's have either stunk or have been as bland as a "Hungry Man" TV dinner...... Why is that????

I think that was my point? You're not seeing the original promotion (obviously, because it would be in a language you don't understand), you instead get commentary and analysis provided at low budget by the US distributor.

This thread would be like me complaining that HBO PPVs are rubbish because of Adam Smith and Jim Watt commentating on them and Dave Clarke in the studio (which is what we in the UK see on SBO when we watch Mayweather v Mosley, for instance). If I made that thread, everyone would call me a ******. So why shouldn't we call you a ******?

Jesus H. Christ on a weekend afternoon, this whole topic has been misconstrued to the maxi-pad......

Their is NO nagging or selling Europe or Britain short here....... NO! That is NOT the agenda............ The point was, why do the main events overseas, as well as the undercards for boxing either seem bland or horrid over in Europe and Britain.?.?

NOW! Not all foreign fight-cards have sucked..........

    "Tyson-Douglas" in Japan kicked-ass back in 1990........

"Lewis-Ruddock" was a shocker in London later in '92............

"Lewis-Rahman 1" was another shocker in South Africa..........

I think them are fair calls made..........

Actually, that **** is what's killing things......... Christ, I thought Hector Camacho's ring-walks were over-done, but then came along Naseem Hamed and his display...... Now the K-bros. have just added more icing on top of that cake that was baked yrs ago........

    :patsch:shock:

I actually have some old Jim Watt stuff at ringside........ Watt is cool with me, though hard as hell to understand with his deep twang.........

Barry McGuigan is much easier to understand behind the mic.....

The worst is like when Don King hired Gerrie Coetzee to guest behind the mic for some of his 1980s shows......... Coetzee's accent kills me to understand...........
