how much is a typical ticket for a big fight in vegas ? $400 +

not sure what your point is, Calaghe sells 60,000 seats in wales, Hatton 70,000 in Manchester , Kessler ,Abraham always sell out in denmark and germany. PPV is not that big in sports in europe , football leads the way in this format. European cup final had over 400 million viewera , twice that of the superbowl. If you look at viewers rather than buys at one point 18% of viewers were watching Vlad fight chambers in germany.

need to check you facts my friend , but interesting conversation

Hey Bill! Hope all's fine... long time no see!

As many pointed out, there really is no PPV in Germany (only in the UK) but you are right that the last few fights by the Ks were offered by PPV to the American audience.

And I agree with you, it's difficult to match the HBO or showtime crew. People often forget how lucky they are to have the commentators when they criticize them. It's really several leagues above anything I saw and heard in Germany or UK.

But production itself, the show etc is actually much better in Germany. There are usually more people (not counting the stadiums) and ARD, ZDF, and SAT1 and RTL do a great job. The problem is that you get only the pieces with your PPV.

To sum up, in my opinion, showtime and HBO have way better commentators who make for an enjoyable experience, while the Germans have a superior production (also classier shows in general).

most shows made in europe are not PPV in the country they are broadcast in so the budget is not as high as american PPV events so no the undercard fighters are not going to be as good.

Europe is boring, nothing to do and the people there are just waiting to die.

Undercards are usually crap in the UK, promoters seem to have got into the habit of using them only to showcase their up coming fighters by putting them in with dead bodies, although there are some exceptions Khan v Barrera undercard was good.

US ppv's are usually better as far as the fights go however I would rather EAT MY OWN **** than listen to likes of the self important cretins that are Larry Merchant and Max Kellerman!

The undercard to "Klit-Chambers" last March was perhaps the worst list of mismatches I ever saw.....

because the Euro fights that are broadcast on PPV in the USA don't make much of their revenue out of the American broadcast, so they don't put much money into it

I'm not sure what you are claiming to be bland; the fights or the bulid up and show as a whole.

If it is the fights then i can kind of see your point. Euro fighters, while well schooled in the fundamentals, generally lack the flair of their American counterparts or the balls out gung-ho of latino fighters so two Euro's fighting could be a bit dull if you are not into that style.

As for the undercards, i find most undercards these days are **** regardless of location. Most undercard fights these days tend to be mis-matches involving a prospect versus a journey man.

As for the shows it really depends what you like. Euro shows tend to have less in depth build up. They often lack interviews with the fighters and you get less of a back story as you might do with an American broadcast. This is a bit **** really as interviews and comment on how and why the fight was made does add to the tension before a fight.

As for entrances, they are pretty much the same except for Germany were they appear to be tarting them up a bit with regular fireworks and laser shows.

The commentary and pre and post fight analysis is kind of different though. I feel with American commentators they will speak their mind more even if it is a bit contraversial were as some Brit commentators can be a bit to nice and don't want to point out any negative points about a fighter. Although being a Brit i do get a bit pissed of with the American commentators shitty attempts at trying to be poetic with some of their lines and using countless poor analogies. If you have something to say just say it in plain English. We are watching a fight, not a play.

Overall, whilst the action in the ring may be different, i think the shows are pretty similar. American shows may be a bit more razzmatazz but a lot of Euro's really don't like that.
