Is it only in Australia where you can drink Gator/Powerade?

It seems every time I see a fight in Australia these guys have water and a sports drink. Can you have sports drinks in Vegas? USA in general?

To me its dangerous to drink sports drinks during fights. Second, any sports drink with color can have something mixed into that drink that could give a fighter pep, and wouldn't no one know.

    Why would it be dangerous?

Sometimes I think they use gatorade bottle with water inside, for promotion purposes. Gatorade is safe compared to other drinks, but water is still best.

A lot of stimulants would dissolve in water anyway and you wouldn't be able to see them aswell.

How is water best? Water is used to balance the playing field. You get energy from gatorade.

I think Vegas changed the rules regarding drinking policies. I believe they allow sports drinks. I think Chris John and Erik Morales (vs Marcos Maidana) were drinking gatorade.

The rules were changed a few years ago I believe starting with the Mosley-Vargas fight to allow fighters to use pediolytes.

They're now allowed in the US.
