Extremely rare. In most circumstances, no.

The only exceptions in recent memory are Erik Morales (considered unanimously by the entire boxing community to be shot, pre-Maidana) and Jorge Arce (same, pre-WV2)

cot to would have still gotten out boxed by Floyd even when they both were at 140.. which is why that fight never happened. Even at 147 Arum knew Cotto could not beat floyd but he tried to bait floyd into signing a contract with with his company.

true pros can turn it around Gatti after losses to robinson an manfredy turned around made latter half of carrer pretty succesful
verno phillips won a title in 93 made a few defense an suffered couple losses an was pretty much writin off but 10 yrs later gained a pieace of jrm title

I thought Cotto might not have been able to recover from the Beaing from the Plaster master. I literally thought Margocheato shortened Cotto's career with a little help from the stuff in his gloves. Versus Clottey he looked like garbage, Pac beat him down . . . so at that point I thought my assessment was right. But he did bounce back nicely versus foremen, Mayorga ans his grudge match against the a$#hile MargoCheato. At one point Cotto should have called it a day, but he actually turned his career around @ 154

In hind sight he might have been some weight issues as well that could explain his sub par performances

Of course not. Idiots here label guys shot all the time too quickly to suit the point they want to try and make. There's a WORLD of difference between past prime and shot. Most of the time, calling someone shot just comes back to make them look like the noobs they really are.
