Pac was ko'ed twice and beaten by morales, so I guess he went from "shot" to "not shot" because of what he was able to achieve since. :rasta

Have either of them floyd fans since claimed it's a good fight?

In the current era his stoppage win over cotto is arguably his greatest. But I feel history will begin to view it behind his victories over mab, em and jmm.

It's definitely difficult to evaluate when you're killing yourself to make weight and have quite a bit of wear & tear. Morales physically even now seems to be pretty forgone, but his skills and the lack of quality competition seem to allow him to hold up well. Perhaps Maidana was a bit of a favorable style-matchup too. He's got guts as well. But you're right, it seems much easier to determine whether a fighter is shot or not if they're a HW.

It seems no one has went from shot to un-shot without at least having moved up in weight.

    garbage?

cotto was supposed to lose against clottey and never mind that he has this cut early on. this fight proved cotto still has it and yet *****s tend to discredit him just because pac is fighting him next.

some *****s were also discrediting cotto's win over foreman (against one-legegd fighter), maryorga (struggled against a shot fighter) and margarito (softened by pac), all at 154 until floyd decided to fight him and suddenly, these wins are great and cotto was not shot anymore.

Gatti got to a point where he seemed like he was shot but then he took a little time off and had a couple soft fights then he came back and had huge profile fights with Ward times, dorin, and he had several other good proformances before he fought may weather and baldimore

Remember how Holyfield was considered "shot" after his first fight with Michael Moorer? Since then, he beat Tyson twice and avenged his loss to Moorer.

Marco Barrera was labeled "damaged goods" after the Junior Jones fight. I don“t have to explain his accomplishments after that.

Pacquiao was considered past it after the second Marquez fight. He then went up several divisons(while maintaining his speed and power), and reentered his prime after turning 30 and reaching 50 professional fights. Marquez was considered a blown up, past it, LW, who would get knocked out in 5 rounds or less against any top WW after losing to Mayweather. He's now back to being right around his prime. It happens all the time.

The term shot is given too easily by the ******s of this forum. You must judge a fighter based on his previous fight. If he doesn't bounce back in a few fights then it's okay to call him shot.

past it≠ shot. If it is their prime, past it is inevitable. Shot is the bottom of that slide.
