Is it possible for Crawford to emerge from tomorrow night with any credit?

Brook is obviously not prime. That said he's still an excellent fighter worth having on a resume.

But that’s Pacquiao. The only eight weight world champ. Pacquaio is one of a kind. Pacquaio is in a world of his own but I do see your point.

I believe those who think Brook is “shot” are referring to his destroyed orbital socket and the surrounding bone that he had to have a surgical plate installed to hold it together for.

And if Kell Brook looks as impressive as Pacman did, I will happily retract my mockery, and even poke fun at myself. Until then? Brook's as good as his last fight, and he did not look particularly good.

He'll get credit just for doing what we expect (win). Outside of that, not much. A fight against Porter, Spence, or Garcia is needed.

Pac was robbed against Horn (common sense). He also beat a guy (Thurman) who only had one tuneup fight after a two year hiatus. Let's be real, Pac cherrypicked him, and Thurman cashed out.

Yeah. Some credit. I don't know how much left Brook has but in his prime he was a very good fighter. But he's had eye injuries and hasn't been a welterweight in 3 years.

How many tunes up would Thurman be allowed before is WOULDN'T be a cherry pick? What Thurman did was not out of the ordinary. Guys return from injury a lot, take a tune up, and get right back to business.

A tune up against someone who was ranked among the top ten welterweights at the time, I might add.

Lets not be naive.... Pac had better options and chose the weakest link. The ATGs do it sometimes. Thurman was basically semi-retired as well, his mindset changed dramatically. I can't say I was overly impressed by win against Lopez.

True. If he goes on to do good things after Crawford then I think it enhances the victory beyond its current standing.

    But each to their own.

    Tomato, tomato.

I disagree. If either man beats the other in a good fight, the winner will get full credit. Honestly, we don’t really know how much gas Brook has left in the tank. The guy who fought GGG is probably long gone but he looked pretty good against Spence until his eye was injured. If he stays healthy and fights his best, he’s probably the best guy Crawford has ever fought. He’s a big WW and is more skilled than big guys like Horn, who Crawford beat easily. I’m excited about this fight and hope it’s as good as it looks on paper.

Crawford will probably win, at least I’m picking him. We haven’t seen Crawford in a close fight, at least in recent years. Hope Brook forces him to find another gear and give the fans a great fight. If this happens, fans will have to give him credit. Even the haters.

Has nothing to do with being naïve. He fought the guy who was recognized as the current WW World Champ. Who should he have fought? Errol spence jr? He had Porter in contract at that time. Besides, think PBC was willing to work with Pac? Garcia was doing a tune up after his loss to Porter, and we know where Porter went next. To Spence Jr.

I don't see how as Brook is as close to being shot as one can get.
    Crawford should dominate him.

I didn't say that you or anybody else on this thread did, did I? But that seems to be the prevailing notion where this match is concerned.
