Is it possible Fury leaves Warren and goes to Hearn?

Only 1 has been against a credible opponent and 3/5 were on at US time. I think the Wilder fight would’ve sold well had it been on UK time.

His profile has definitely risen, he was fairly obscure in 2015 but thanks to social media and his big mouth he’s really raised his profile - it’s impressive in a way because he doesn’t have much corporate backing to speak of really. His primary sponsors are some dodgy timeshare company in Marbella and an Italian restaurant.

 

His profile may have risen but I’m not really sure it has done so in the way that boosts his value too much. He was fairly well known in 2015 - a lot of his earlier fights had been on terrestrial TV remember; Chisora Fury I was on Channel 5, and the Klitschko fight was given the full Sky Box Office treatment.

A lot of people know who Tyson Fury is. That doesn’t seem to translate into people buying his fights, and that’s what makes the difference when it comes to trying to arrange a Joshua fight.

 

I think the mooted comeback plan by Hearn (which if I remember correctly was no-hoper, Bellew, Whyte and then Joshua) would’ve sold well assuming he beat the 3 before Joshua.

I think Sky is a different animal to 2015 thanks mainly to social media and lots more general sports fans are aware of people like Whyte, Usyk, Chisora etc

I think Fury may well end up with Hearn and I think it would be a smart move really. If he beats Wilder it would make more sense to focus on the UK and make the Joshua fight.

 

Not even sure how relevant Warren is to Fury these days.

 

He'd earn far more on Matchroom - Like it or not that is a fact when he's headlining a PPV v a Whyte or a Usyk before he fights Joshua on a PPV.

With Sky Sports News creaming themselves 24/7 every time he so much as sneezes he could earn a fortune over here.

Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora are PPV fighters. Don't think that Tyson with his 'charisma' would have any problem would he !

 

Why do you constantly reference Joshua? Joshua is a phenomenon. Like nobody we've ever seen in this part of the world. He's got the look, he used to knock people out for fun and he's been managed fantastically well by matchroom and sky. Never before has a fighter in Britain had such relentless promotion. Well done to all involved. Incredible job.

Fury on the other hand has pretty much promoted himself from the off. Yet he's a very well known, wealthy man with huge paydays in front of him including including a joint network American PPV and a 50/50 purse split with Joshua. Amazing.

 

Why do you keep referencing that Joshua 50/50 idea? You point out yourself why it won’t happen.

 

Because you said 100 times it wouldn't happen yet Eddie Hearn has admitted AJ pretty much has no choice but to take it.

 

You often seem to be keen to stress things which haven’t happened yet somehow prove you’re correct. So you’ve confirmed Vegas for the 22nd of February, you’ve confirmed that Fury and Wilder have signed for a third fight, you’ve confirmed a fifty fifty split. None of this seems likely.

Fury demanding fifty fifty for Joshua is a plain and simple duck.

Fury wa smart he went initially with a UK promoter that would give him two knockovers for the most money. Hearn wanted someone atleast with name. BT needed to build their boxing business and paid him to fight anyone he wanted.

he then took the Wilder fight for big money and I believe he thought he would completely outbox Wilder for 12 rounds which he did to an extent but got hit with two Hail Marys.

BT then could not keep paying him that kind of money so he did the same thing with TR and ESPN who knew the heavyweight division is the money division and they didn’t have a dog in the fight.

At the time he could not sign with Hearn as he would be second fiddle to AJ. I still think he would not sign with Hearn until after any fight with AJ as I believe he knows he needs leverage like ESPN and BT bidding on the fight to drive his price with DAZN and Sky.

I don’t believe Arum or Warren actually have much of a say in the Fury negotiations. Besides giving him leverage on a deal. My guess is if he loses the fight with AJ and chooses to fight on that will be under the Matchroom banner.

 

Think it’s more pride/ego rather than a duck. Despite Joshua being the more revenue generating fighter, I wouldn’t be surprised if they acquiesced to the 50/50 on the proviso Fury joins Matchroom.

I hate talking about splits and all that nonsense but it’s required where Joshua is concerned unfortunately.

 

Frank is irrelevant to Fury. All he does is hold his domestic tv rights.

Not sure how long Frank will be with BT anyway. It’s plainly obvious he’s not delivering on what he openly said he was going to do and his ultra cautious route might not work if he needs big events.
