what i mean is, he said a while ago on steve bunces boxing hour that he was around 233 i think. now from looking at him in that interview he looked slightly beefy and too bulky for him, and not 233 of rock solid natural muscle.

now haye never claimed that he was going to come in around the mid 230's, but he did say he wanted to only shave a few pounds off. now 215 is like nearly 20 pounds off, so i dont think he really meant that much.

what i reckon is, he initially was going to aim for 225-230 but found out in sparring he was getting tagged a lot more by the big boys, so decided to come in around 215 which is similar to the bonin fight which he naturally looked spectacular (even if it was against a hand picked opponent).

haye and co. possibly realised after months of bulking up that it really didn't help him, but rather, it hindered his performance. therefore they slowly reduced the muscle and this is the result. virtually back to where he was roughly for the bonin fight.

now we know he didn't take 8 months beefing up for bonin, so i reckon it was simply a reality check, and they secretly decided haye is to be a small heavy (weight wise).

this is interesting because i highly doubt just having to lose 15 pounds was enough to weaken haye's punch resistance and stamina in the crusierweight devision, which has cropped up from time to time.

now if im correct then he might be like a kind of roy jones jr in the heavyweight division. win or lose, he will look spectacular, and like roy he will have loads of natural phyisical abilities, but he will have to watch out for his "tarver".

I'm not sure, I imagine that he did not add 17lbs of muscle for the bonin fight and that the extra weight he carried was more to do with not boiling down to reach the CW limit.

This time around I would hope that it is 15lbs of solid useful muscle rather than water or fat, meaning that ~215lbs is the current short term safe minimum weight and is no longer ~200lbs. We might be able to tell one way or another on fight night.
