Its going to be good to see what the purse bids come in at. My guess would be anywhere from $ 1.25 to $3.50. Such is the demand to see this.

I dont know how much it will cost ya but i can help lower it maybe. If your plannin on puttin a show on in sydney i'll help ya out as best i can for free.....

I to would love to get into boxing promotion and am willin to help out with anyone who's willing to give me a go but unless your doin it in sydney and on a weekend or friday night maybe im not much help coz of work and ****....

BoxingTrashTalk maybe try an amature show first... sanctioning fees for the ABA are like $1000 but for the Boxing League they only charge a few hundred i think.. plus the fighters wouldnt need to be paid so you'd save there.... the ams would be a much cheaper way to start off man give ya a chance to sort out what ya need and dont need through a bit of trial and error coz ya might be able to do a few more since u can save on fighters purses and the cheaper sanctioning fees and stuff.

To answer your first question about being neutral...

Yes it is. I had the same idea as you in 2003 - thought why not make a little business out of promoting Boxing. i knew no-one in QLD having just moved there.

i spent the next year hanging out with and speaking to as many Boxing people I could find. Asked questions of everyone. Hung out with promoters. Sourced a venue and then with $50 to my name one of my helpers Derek Milham lined up Michael Katsidis to fight Fred Kinuthia at the Broncos Leagues Club.

Had to find $30 000 in 6 weeks to pay everyone ;)

Brendan Smith did the match making which helped me greatly.

It was a great little show called Rise of A Champion and Mick has lived up to the billing I feel in recent years.

From there i have been involved with 20+ Pro shows and 5 Am shows...

    So it is possible.

BTT, in addition you have to work your ass off. U need to get up and do stuff. Spend every day making phone calls and getting **** organised. There are sooooo many things to organise you're best off getting someone to help you with it and put in almost as much time as you will.

I've done 5 shows with a mixture of pros, ams and corporates. Started from scratch and learnt as i've gone on. Never try and go to big to fast, you'l crash and burn.

The first one is when you learn the most cause it is so farking stressful!

If you dont like swimming in the deep end and having 500 things running around your head and people wanting everything off you all at once. then don't organise events - especially Boxing

I still have heaps to learn I feel. My good friend promotes nightclubs here in Brisbane and the Gold Coast so it helps having someone to bounce ideas off and keep you on track.

Also splitting the workload between myself and Angelo helps so much.

Yeh im prepared to do the hard stuff.

I wouldn't mind having 400 ring card girls try out.
