I'm in the same boat. I just can't overlook the poor technique with all the arm punches and poor footwork. I tried watching it but the wrestling is too much and it turned me off.
Remember the 'poor footwork' is sometimes down to the fact the puncher has to set himself against a takedown. It doesn't excuse some of the poor technique but it is a factor to be considered.
[YT][/YT] Yes, it does. And yes, its possible and logical to like both. Makes no sense not to like both.
Its not poor footwork, its footwork for a different sport, a sport you don't know what kind of footwork is required and have no basis for determining what is good or bad footwork.
I enjoy both. There is no reason someone can't enjoy both sports, though there does seem to be a lot of animosity between fans.
Who was the Heavyweight MMA champion of the world in 1945? I know who was the boxing HW champ without looking it up...
that's because you're a boxing fan and nothing more. I enjoy kickboxing , boxing & mma because i'm a combat sports fan.
tecnhically speaking mma is way older than boxing. One of the disciplines which is for the most part dominating this sport is greco roman wrestling. mma as it is today though (combining all disciplines) is more recent.
The point I was trying to make is that boxing has an easily tracable and popular history going back several centuries as regards champions and fights. MMA doesn't.
True. But Rampage is my favorite and boxing is my number 1 sport. So I try not to spend too much money on ufc
I like both, both have exiting fights and both have boring fights from time to time, and if anyone says any different they are being totally biased plain and simple.
