All those shots he’s taken are gonna take their toll at some point I reckon

He has been hurt before. Lemieux never really hurt GGG. He wasn't completely rocked, but he definitely was hurt by this shot

It's always sad to me when a grown man can't argue facts himself and has to talk about "experts". It's like arguing with a child who says "My father said so." Please try to formulate an argument on your own if you want to be taken seriously.

LaMotta was out on his feet in his last fight with Robinson when the fight was stopped. Of course his chin was very good. But there are definitely instances of him being hurt. He also was not the human punching bag you were told he was. All you have to do is watch his fights to see he had excellent defense. I guess your experts never told you that.

I merely asked you to think about why it might be that LaMotta is so frequently nominated for that distinction. The instances you refer to are no secret, and yet he continues to be nominated above many tough fighters who were never stopped or so famously hurt. Could that be because there are nuances and finer points involved in such estimations?

FWIW, I'm a huge advocate of LaMotta's skillset. That's beside the point. I'm talking about his ability to absorb punishment when called on.

Your simplistic rationale resembles that of a Mayweather fanatic who believes being undefeated = TBE.

Grispos and White were his second and fifth fights. Artie Levine is a seriously underrated puncher at middleweight. Castellani also knocked down Bobo Olson, a durable light heavy. Archer was literally his last fight, cmon.

LaMotta took a fight and half's worth of punishment before the stoppage and was still on his feet. When has Golovkin fought someone as good as a prime Sugar Ray Robinson and had him test his chin? That's the problem with Golovkin, he can let guys like Monroe Jr. (lol) and Brook take their best shots but that doesn't make me think, best middleweight chin ever. He's never been in a prolonged firefight with a big puncher. The past claimants for great chins all have.

It's always sad to me when a grown man is so enamoured of another grown man that it clouds his sense of discernment.

I realise that the partisan Golovkin guys are growing irritable at the increasingly realistic prospect of their man fading into retirement without verifying the assumptions of greatness they projected upon him. But one cannot manufacture greatness for fighters that one admires or has sentimental attachment to. It doesn't work like that.

You really have no idea what you are talking about. Are you saying I think LaMotta had a weak chin? Where do I say that? All I have done is quote facts, not hyperbole. I know much more about Jake LaMotta than you. Do you see who is in my avatar?

So you know nothing about LaMotta either? Actually LaMotta was winning that fight going into the championship rounds and gassed because he had trouble making weight.

A fight and a half's worth of punishment? You think LaMotta was a punching bag with a chin and no defense? I'm sure you got that from the movie, which was mostly bs, especially the fight scenes. LaMotta had excellent defense. It's obvious you've never even seen that fight. Why do you post here???

Im not enamoured by anything. Why don't you tell me the knockout artist that slugged it out with Golovkin. Robinson, LaMotta and Hagler have all had their chins tested. That's why they have arguments for best chins at middleweight. When Golovkin fought Lemieux he changed his style to be more careful. He became conservative and safety-oriented as soon as he took on a legitimate puncher. What does that say about him?

He was doing fine in the early rounds until he got tired. Then he took a long beating until the stoppage. Maybe youre thinking of their other fights.

Golovkin ate Geale's best shot and landed his own concussive, fight-ending blow a fraction of a second later. Stevens, Lemieux and Jacobs are some of the heaviest punchers ever to grace MW and Golovkin took a few decent shots from them. He ate up Brook's and Canelo's punches like handfuls of M&M's.

I think those are credentials enough to nominate him for GOAT MW chin.
