Especially since being on the ropes with Joshua could be described as virtual nigh-suicide; and I've always been very confident in stating that very few Top 10 heavyweights would of been able to survive the onslaught that was unleashed upon Whyte in Round 1. What do you think? Could someone use that strategy against Joshua and prevail? Or could it only be possible in the later rounds? All comments are welcomed!
Joshua reminds me of Vitali Klitschko, and Eddie Chambers reminds me of Chris Byrd. So Eddie Chambers could rope-a-dope Joshua just like Chris Byrd rope-a-doped Vitali Klitschko.
Why wouldn't it? It's a bit early to compare him with prime Foreman isn't it? Destroying Norton and Frazier in 2, is a bit more of an achievement as destroying Christy Martin in 2.
No he is too smart and measured for that, he likes his combinations but he won't waste energy when he knows the guy is not hurt. He let Martin come onto him then countered him and has not had to use too much effort to beat any of his opponents so far (except Whyte which was a brawl).
yes I feel Fury beats him handily, ive only seen size and power from AJ so far Nothing to convince me he can beat a wiley talented fighter like Fury
Not if you are wide open like Martin. Fury doesn't need to rope a dope him, he has the size, reach and jab to control Joshua at distance, wear him out and take a wide UD or stoppage.
Sure he does, joshua annihilates fury inside 6 one sided mostly 10/8 rounds. Probably inside 3 but I'm giving fury the benefit of the doubt that he has half a chin
Any of today's HWs? No. Not many slick and fast fighters at HW. But I'm sure Ali from Foreman fight would have schooled and knocked out Anthony Joshua.
EXACTLY, he knocks out one guy and people wanna compare him to an ATG like George Foreman. Foreman would've murdered Joshua, absolutely obliterated him.
No. Rope a dope is useless againstany decent opponent, that's why nobody use it. Especially against Joshua. If Joshua focuses on your abdomen, your guts are spilling out by 2 rounds
Well..... Kingpin tried it, didn't work out too well for him. Would take a really good and prime slippery and defensive master like Byrd to pull it off.
Decent opponent who's using their head* I think we can all agree that Foreman was a great fighter who employed a very silly gameplan against Ali.
