Mandana is right. Boxing isn't just about talent or technique otherwise Froch would not be where he is today. Intangiables matter and Carl trains very hard to get in 12 round shape. He is also very strong mentally which means he is stubborn in his belief that he is better than he actually is. It also means he will fight the best, fight to a strategy and not give in.

Only if his next two fights are wins over the Klitschko brothers. :good

C'mon, how he's going to get ahead of all-time greats like Ted 'Kid' Lewis ?

Froch has never been ranked no.1 in his division or been p4p top 10 rated.
Ward and Bute aren't proven p4p guys either so how exactly does he become the greatest British fighter if he beats them?

Not really sure why anyone is comparing Froch to Lewis i dont think anyone with any sense is i was under the impression Lewis' place in British boxing history was cemented.

Also i agree with an ealier poster the sad thing is we havent had Froch for years instead we get a few more fights and thats it.

    This :deal

BTW to the people that comment on Johnson i'm not saying he would beat Calzaghe but the first post about him in this thread was disrespectful and IMO clueless.

Stupid and naive comment, how is it sad ? Not like Froch got anything handed to him. Of course people will be subjective in there preference of who is the best british fighter ever, but if Froch does wind up by a large or small number of people in a few years time to be considered the best, i certainly wouldn't have a problem with it either way. Brillant fighter.

I don't really understand why people have to have their rankings - put everything in it's neat little pigeon hole. You can like apples and oranges equally yet they taste entirely different. Just enjoy eating your fruit.

Im a big fan of Froch, to argue he is the best current British fighter is a good thread.
To argue that if after a couple of wins he will become our greatest ever is just silly.
Ted Lewis, Jimmy Wilde & Lennox Lewis will remain as greater, Froch is top 20 material.

PS - Froch isn't a couple of fights away. He is at least a whole career. People need to re-analyse what Hamed, Lewis, Calzaghe, Buchanan, Hatton etc achieved.

I think the OP is more interested in what people like Hamed and Calzaghe didnt achieve and what they could've. However, im still completely clueless why Lewis is being brought into this whole affair.
