is it still considered a robbery if a valid kd isnt scored?

if a fight is close, and a kd isnt scored, so the rounds are scored accurately considering the kd wasnt awarded, would you still consider it a robbery?

im talking like reid vs ottke.
    mayorga vs spinks

and im sure there are others

so lets say you have a fight that is scored well by the judges on a round by round basis, but there should have been a kd. is it still a robbery?

i was gonna mention that but the fight wasnt close enough for me to make it relevant. it would be hard giving zab 6 of them rounds, so i left him out.

Reid should have beaten Ottke comfortably without the knockdown. Unfortunately the judges didn't see it that way. It wasn't really that close of a fight.

Ohhh, I see what you're saying.

I can't really think of a huge difference maker right off the bat.

this is the point tho, without the kd, plus the deduction, the fight is close enough to go either way. because suddenly ottke has a 10-8 round, which aint the judges fault, it's the ref's. so is it still a robbery?

got one actually. jmm vs mab. mab should have had a kd and instead got a point deducted. without that mab would have won the fight, beating jmm. so is that fight a robbery?

I had the fight a draw had the knockdown been counted.

I remember being really pissed off when I saw that.

I don't know about robbery though.

Great example. However I just think it's one of those things. The referee messed up but he didn't have a system in place to double check his decision, nor does I think boxing need one like Rugby League in Britain has.

well thats the point of the thread really.

had mab not been deducted, and been awarded the kd, i dont think jmm could have won the fight. so is it a robbery?

    JMM vs. MAB

If the KD was correctly called and the ref stepped in, MAB wouldn't have been confused and threw the illegal punch. I can't blame the guy, he just floored his opponent with a punch and the ref didn't even make a call.

Yes. With the point deduction, i had Marquez up by 1 point.
