Sure if you're fighting the big names and fighting for titles.

Those days seem to be numbered for him now.

Saying Porter is a bad style match up is ridiculous, there is nothing unusual about Porter's style, Paulie couldn't handle the power of his telegraphed shots, Paulie been living the easy life as a commentator and the fighter is gone, he would lose to every champion at 147 these days!

I would like to see him continuing fighting.

Seeing him get his ass beat never gets old.

Some pretty disrespectful comments here. People criticising Paulie for having no power should realise that they're actually then underlining what a fine boxer he is as he found other more subtle ways to win fights and become a two weight world champ. There's more than one way to skin a cat as the saying goes. In saying that though I think it is time for him to retire - has nothing left to prove to anyone and can focus on his commentating job. Best of luck to him whatever he decides to do. Respect

The guy made it to world level.
Held legit titles at 2 weights, without ever having a KO punch.

That makes his career MORE impressive, not less.

Anyone who watches the Cotto fight and doesnt respect Paulie isnt a boxing fan

Floyd has been finding ways to win without KO power for much of his career and guess what he gets criticized on the daily for being a pillowfisted runner whose boring. But on this board it's Paulie who deserves respect

Yeah this C-level overrated guy needs to leave. He's a 2 division paper champion and couldn't even beat Broner. Never beat ONE good boxer in his life

Again: You referred to Porter as Shawn "sparring partner" Porter. Sorry, but that is disrespectful. As if other young champions were not sparring partners for champions before they became established. It was a ridiculous comment to make, and it was clearly aimed at diminishing Porter and Malignaggi as boxers and champions. i.e "If this 'sparring partner' can whip Paulie, Paulie was never that good."

I said nothing about it being just an issue of a bad style match up either. You clearly have me confused for somebody else.

And nobody is trying to turn Malignaggi into an ATG. The man had a solid career and got a belt in 2 weight divisions. By any normal measure, Paulie was very successful in his boxing career. Consider the history of surgeries on his right hand, and the fact he was essentially a one-armed fighter, Malignaggi over-achieved in his career and is due his respect as a fighter and champion.

Retire, I respect him for going this far without world class power. It takes balls to go in there everytime out and know this guy hits harder then you and you can not hurt him. with that said I don't want to see him take up anymore of the boxing budget.

He has made millions of dollars. In just the Hatton fight he was a made millionaire. Any career that yields millions of dollars is PLENTY good! I have a GREAT career and haven't broken a million.... yet :)

I used to despise Paulie because he was such a Douche Canoe. However, over the years, I have gained a respect for his courage and boxing skills, and even though he's still a Douche, I have grown quite fond of him.

Yeah...I think it's time for Paulie to hang 'em up and take a job as a Boxing Commentator. I have always enjoyed his fights and have always enjoyed his Boxing Commentary. I hope to see a lot more of this guy in the future, and I want to see him in good health and still his douchey self.

Good luck and good fortune Paulie.
