He's 37. Just like Lewis was when he retired.... 63 fights under the belt. Lewis had 44. Both gold Olympians And undisputed HW champ with **** loads of money. Just like Lemmux? Should he follow the same path as the Canadian lion?:think The only difference I can see, is he doesn't have to rematch vitali....atsch
From a competitive standpoint, yes. However, he's getting a ton of money to fight guys with little shot to beat him. If I were him, I'd keep fighting. It's not like he's taking much punishment out there.
No. He's still in fantastic shape and he comes into every fight in his best condition. Once he takes out Povetkin, he needs to look at Haye-Fury winner and maybe try to get his brother's belt before he retires. Legacy and all.
I hope he does soon !! --- Im tired of watchingf him jab.jab.jab.clinch..jab..jab..straight right..jab..jab... LAY ON OPPENENTS BACK....clinch...jab...straight right...clinch..jab..jab. LAY ON BACK...jab... BORING----AND SCARED TO DEATH TO ACTUALLY ENGAGE AND FIGHT !!!!
I am tired of Void Mayweather, jabing, holding, laying on the ropes and running, rarely getting a knockout. It's OK for Void to jab, and box, but the Klitschko haters do not want Vitali or Vlad to use their talents. When they box, it's boring, but when Void runs and holds, that is exciting. Klitschkos get way more knockouts. Vitali has the highest KO percentage of any heavyweight champion in boxing history. What more can you ask? He toyed with Wilder while sparing for the Wach fight. They love Wilder because Wilder will not fight anyone in the top 100!
Boxing is about hitting and not getting hit. You sound more like you are tired of seeing the Klits winning all the time!
Floyd doesn't initiate as many clinches in ten fights as Waldo does in just a few rounds. Unlike Waldo, he knows how to move his head and roll punches and can fight on the inside and move laterally. Also, unlike Waldo, Floyd doesn't have a chin made of wet toilet paper, so he doesn't need to grab and hold on for dear life every time some tomato can gets close enough to hit him... Which brings me to my next point: Floyd doesn't fight cans, but Waldo sure as hell does. :yep
It was easier for Lennox Lewis to walk away, because he defeated every man he faced. Was once an Undisputed Champion & he was not interested in sticking around to face Vitali again... Wladimir resume is just a step behind Lewis, for two obvious reasons: * He lacks "defeated every man he faced" feat (Puritty & Sanders) * He was never Undisputed, because of Big Brother WBC Champion He has to await his brother retirement, become Undisputed & retire, a rematch with Sanders is no longer possible...So he can't defeat every man he faced, but he can become Undisputed once his brother Vacates or retires
He'll fight for another 3-4 years. Some interesting challenges up ahead, with all the young fighters coming up.
Vitali should definitely retire but Wlad has every incentive to continue fighting...as long as there are meaningful fights to be made(Povetkin, Pulev, Fury, Wilder, Mitchell/Arreola/Stiverne/Abdusalamov)
Retire? For getting a couple of reasonably good and probably big money fights ahead in wich he will be the overwhelming favorite?! :blood I know some here want him to retire because their favorite fighters have no way of beating him. And then they can say they would have won, and Wlad is a chicken for retiring.
