Should a Super Heavyweight Division be created and Eliminate the Cruiser's?

    190lbs-225lbs> Heavyweight Limit
    226+> Super Heavyweight Division

    NO.

The last thing boxing needs is FOUR MORE heavyweight champions.

No, the super heavys would merely be fat taxi drivers, plus Valuev. No one needs such a division.

I have long thought this would be a good idea. They do something like this in the Olympics, so why not in the pros?

it maybe alright to do this if the heavyweight division was packed with talent but the fact of the matter is that it is maybe the worst division in boxing. so if you made a superheavyweight division all it would do would is starve the heavyweight division of needed talent.

No. The heavyweight title is the ultimate prize in boxing and always has been. It would devalue it.

IMO, This would save the current HW's
And breathe life into a dying Big man's division.

Eliminate the Cruiserweight Division & combine it with HW.
HW's would have to be Fit & forced to make the 225lbs limit.
SHW's can be like the HW's of today Slow lumbering Giant's.
(But atleast they will all be in the same league now)

Because of the huge amount of confusion surrounding who the HW champion actually is at any given time as things stand - another HW division would just confuse the issue, as well as making the biggest division, always the flagship, even worse in terms of quality.

It's a ****ing terrible idea to add four more champions at the highest weights which will be a showcase for the worst fighters in the world which will be watched by the biggest audeinces.

    It's stupid. As ****.

I defo agree that a ton of HW champion's would dilute the history of the HW championship..
But why is this the only division in boxing which is allowed to have out of shape giant's represent it and make a ton more money than the fighter's who actually got out and do road work and fight their ass off for pennies.

Put a limit on the Hw's..combine with Cruiser.
Force fighter's who want to compete at HW to be in proper shape.

Bring some speed & Competition back to the HW's.
We have some fight's having people outweigh their comp by more than 30 pounds.

Getting rid of Cruiser is a bad idea. The jump from LHW to Cruiser is too big as it stands. 25lbs is a HUGE jump.

Return Cruiser back to it's rightful 190lb limit. Make HW 225. Make 225+ SHW.

It'd give a playground for the smaller heavies like Haye, and leave the lumbering giants to do there thing at any weight.

It'll never happen though, as the "new" HW division wouldn't get any press, ala Cruiserweight right now (CW might be the LEAST cared about division outside of Britain, that's not below featherweight). The media would focus on the Super Heavies, who would ultimately suck.

Making another division would ruin the HW division even more. Imagine who the champs would be at each weight and who would be in the top 10

    Actually, I do.

But it's neither here nor there, really. This idea isolates the least talented boxers in the sport in the division everybody will want to watch, as a general rule. With a superheavyweight division in place, guys like Tyson, Liston, Ali, would be figthing in the second most popular division!!

Who is the most popular, greatest 230 plus fighter in history? It's one of the ****ing Klischko brothers, probably. That's no good.

There is nothing wrong with the division the way it is. It gave us Lennox and Vitali, and it held the best years for Hollyfield, all recently.

Every time the HW's go weak there is this debate. The division is the same as the others, swings and roundabouts. You don't see people panicing during the Hopkins era, demanding a 162lb division.
