Taste the water with a local gym amateur maybe? to see how your reflex and chin holds out just a warning you are in cruiser division the punches hurt little bit. Good luck.

You're asking this question to a bunch of chin-checking keyboard warriors, who have never set foot in a ring, so you're probably not gonna get a good response. If it's something you really want to try, give it a go. You will be at a disadvantage obviously, cos there are many people who took up boxing as kids, but hey it's possible. Start by finding a good gym first!

You could always challenge Wilder for the WBC crown. I'd fancy you to win by knockout

Are you talking about professionally or just to stay in shape?

I used to train in Tae Kwondo when I was much younger for about 7 years. I'd say give that another shot if staying fit is your primary goal.

Darn, I see that all the hilarious "you could be Wilder's next opponent" comments have been taken.

Da Manz is like 23 and just started but he will unify the cruiserweight and heavyweight titles. The Professor even made his thread a sticky because he has potential to become heavyweight champ one day.

You are not too old but boxing is not an easy sport. I have a cousin who was an all-conference linebacker that wasn't good enough to make in the NFL. Since he considered himself a badass, he decided to become a pro-boxer at 23 years old. He trained for a year and won his first three fights by knockout. However, in his third fight he got his nose broken. He said f**k that s**t and became a banker. Everyone is not cut out to be a pro boxer.

You still have time to do anything :thumbsup
I would suggest you also pursued an education or a craft as well.

Clean up your eating and hit the gym. Boxing requires some rhythm so if you have two left feet you might want to start with some basic footwork at s local gym.

    Good luck :good

Boxing training is easy physically but hard mentally. You have to have the mental stamina to continue hitting the bag for that next round or sparring for the next round. You can't give up just because you're out of breath. You have to push your body to the limit every time. It sets the winners apart from the losers. Anyone who tells you different has never boxed before or is a loser. If you can achieve the highest mental strength then you will be a good fighter.

An example being the Mayweather Gym. They have extremely long rounds in sparring with short rest periods. That's why Mayweather was the best of his era and maybe others.

If you have ever quit a workout because you were tired then stay away from pro boxing and stick with amateur boxing.
