If they are all financed (likely) and he owes the IRS money, he is broke. I work for a mortgage bank in Orange County, CA. There are a lot of people who live in prime real estate and drive nice cars that don't qualify for **** because they have a dollar going out for every dollar, or less, coming in.

Of course, the RJJ definition of broke is the good life to most of us.

 

The IRS is a ***** to athletes. Basically wherever the athlete plays he owes taxes. So a baseball player often owes more than 18+ states taxes. Their is a reason that Floyd lives in vegas and only fights in vegas now.

RJJ is probably not broke.

He however has LIQUIDITY problems, where his realmoney is not in actual bills but rather tied to assets like houses, cars, jewelries, etc.

So when the time for IRS or Uncle Sam to collect his SHARE, they end up unable to pay anything.

This happened to Tweetybird Queerweather too, several times, a coupleof years ago.

They ain't broke, they just don't have the cash in their wallet.

 

For all of you claiming that he isn't broke, that is bull****. Dan Rafael wrote a piece on Roy's Glass Bank Account awhile back, he didn't even get paid for that farce of a "fight" with Hopkins, and the IRS has a lien on his house. It isn't a matter of him not having cash on him or whatever other excuse you want to make, it's that he is in the red financially and the only value he has is tied into his assets. He has no money. None. If he did, I can assure you that he wouldn't be travelling around the World having his Glass Jaw shattered over and over again.

 

You are only broke if your liability exceeds your net asset.
