Is it true that Roy Jones made no money in the Hopkins fight?

    I was reading Dan Rafael's NOTEBOOK and it stated that the PPV number was 135K to 145K and that since the first $3.5 M went to Hopkins and they also had to cover expenses, Roy Jones made no money.

    Is this freaken true? If so...........:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

    No idea what he was thinking when he took that deal. I guess he grossly overestimated his drawing power these days(and maybe overestimated Hopkins drawing power as well). His promotion company lost money on his fight with Lacy I believe so maybe this is the final wake up call....likely not.

    That's sad...

    Roy should have just taken the 50-50 and kicked Hopkins' ass... Would have made a lot more money, and would have whipped Hopkins just like the first time.

    when ur dillusional and the fans and people are dellusional this is what happens some people said if a 50%jones shows up against calzaghe it is over ,tyson and roy jones fans are the worst and ironicly there career is ending very similar!!!!tyson and roy it is!!!

    Apparently, on Rafael's chat rap he said it was Roy's call and his people absolutely hated the deal(how could they not?).

    I read about this before the fight happened and someone posted about it on this board saying that Jones mights make close to nothing if the PPV bombed. It did bomb.

    Do you think someone as reputable as Dan Rafael would make this stuff up? I don't.
