Yeah I thought Holyfield could have got the decision but after the controversy of the 1st fight the judges were definitely influenced by that to score the fight for Lewis if it went to the cards again.

Just rewatched their two fights. First one Holy won 3 rds maximum and the second 4 rds max on my card. I personally had it a bit wider.

But especially in the first Holy really looked his age, so, sure, I can see a 6-9 years younger Holy pulling it off. Definitely.

    Would he? Who knows.

It's not even unanimously agreed that Michael Spinks beat Larry Holmes, and that one actually happened.

True, but he was more mobile, sharper, threw more combinations and used his jab better.

Yeah but just because it actually happened don’t mean that everyone has to agree with the decision. Like that fight between the 2 british guys a couple of weeks ago Taylor and cattleman. That actually happened but everyone agrees that the decision was wrong.

Right. That is my point. Ask two boxing fans about something, and you'll get five opinions.

I’d pick Holyfield of either the Foreman fight or the 2nd Bowe fight. When he was sharp like I believe he was in those 2 fights I think he’s got enough to beat Lewis. Now Lewis is great so a case can clearly be built for him for various reasons. I’d see the Foreman version just being to quick and too active and just piling up the points. The rougher bigger more mean version that won his rematch with Bowe would be really interesting and I think he out slugs Lewis fighting in spurts down the stretch much like he did Bowe that night, but that version, well both versions could run into a Lewis right hand and it may get dicey. Holy had an all time chin and amazing powers of recovery though. I’d fancy him to win but in a series of fights Lewis gets his too.

The Holy of the first Bowe fight was at his peak imo and would have stopped Pre-Steward Lewis in 7 or 8.

Steward-era Lewis loses a close but UD to Holy. Both men get staggered more than once.

A prime Holyfield will be competitive with most all heavyweights through history.. But I don’t think it’s unanimously accepted that it’s a given that he beats a prime Lewis.. A tough fight regardless..

Lewis was green & lanky, plus was not on steroids at the time. Old Holyfield nearly knocked out Lewis in the 7th Round of their 2nd fight. Holyfield would be too good for him

Uh no. Lewis is wayyyy better than Holyfield. I mean no disrespect but Prime Lewis was too powerful and big for Holyfield who struggled with the power of Bowe and Foreman.

No. Lewis won the second fight clearly. 8-4 is a good card. A few years ago, its would been closer.
