Is it weird that I don't see anything special in Jack Dempsey?

I know exactly how the sport works. Why didn"t Greb ask to fight him? I never said Greb ducked him. Actually, I loved Greb's fight history, but your slobbering defence of him at the expense of others makes me dislike him. It's alright for guys not to fight Greb, but he misses maybe the most dangerous man of the time that is close to his weight, and McVey, and Wills and Jeannette and it's not questioned. Bull****. Hypocritical.

Why would Greb "ask" to fight Langford? Again, you dont know how this sport works. Fighters chase champions. They dont chase broken down, half blind, ex contenders. By the time Greb was in a position where the fight made sense Langford was fading rapidly, was no longer a realistic contender in any division, and was fighting for relative peanuts on the chitlin circuit, and was far from the most dangerous man AT THAT TIME. So why would Greb "ask" to fight Langford, as if it would have gotten him anything? How exactly does a fight with Langford, that was not on the table, benefit Greb and why should he go out of his way to make it? Its not slobbering defense to state the obvious. Its like asking why Floyd Mayweather doesnt ASK for a fight with Roy Jones.

And now you add McVey, and Jeanette in as well? LOL. So when were those fights on the table? Its news to me. What exactly would Greb have gotten from fighting any of those three? Every single one of those guys was basically finished as a top contender when Greb rose to prominance, certainly by the time he started fighting HWs on a regular basis and being accepted as a contender in that division. Jeanette retired in 1919, McVey was dead by 1921. The only person you can ask "why didnt they fight" is Harry Wills and how well does it speak to Greb's greatness that you are question why he didnt fight a 6' 2" 220 pound black HW that was avoided like the plague by the champion and happened to be a dangerous combination of size, strength, and athleticism. Id say you are proving just by asking that silly question how great Greb really was.

I say again, show me, using your 30 years of journalistic experience, where in my book I lied, mispoke, or twisted the truth to suit Greb or handle anyone else unfairly. You made this accusation and you have yet to back it up AT ALL.
