After seeing what happened in M1 and the probs Finkel and the UFC had with negotiations i wonder if a deal with Fedor can be made. I'm not sure of the money he is demanding but if he commands the 1.5 mill per fight that he got in M1 most orgs will have a tough time turning a profit with that salary. If UFC got him and could promote him to the North American audience they might be able to big enough numbers to pay for him. Fedor isn't a household name yet in North America and any other org besides UFC would be taking a chance signing Fedor and not ending up in red tape. Not to mention besides the money issue there is also Finkels other demands which make things even tougher for an org. How long will Fedor be on the shelf? Isn't he getting tired of all this inactiveness and not fighting top guys?
wonder why they can't sign him to a one fight deal with some options? it would be funny as **** if they signed to a big expensive 5 fight contract and Randy pnwed him in the first fight.
Yes, its worth it. The money they could muster from Fedor overtakes any risk easily. First of all, he is the best HW in the world many people know him in America. He brings the fight every single time and doesn't stall. Every single fight I've seen of his they were entertaining. Besides, Average fans will go for some other fight on the card if they don't know Fedor. 1.5mil per fight seems extraordinary compared to what other fighters are getting but its not really that much if you consider UFC/Zuffa budget.
No point, I think when they decided to try and sign him for 1 fight Randy said, I don't wanna fight in UFC period. It can be anywhere but UFC.
Yes, Zuffa has the budget but it doesn't look like he will be there anyhow, M1 didn't make money with their last show and Bo-dog has dismall numbers as well with the lindlund fight. A smaller org may not be able to sustain that kind of money especially if the show isn't a success. Gary Shaw put an offer in but they also have to have the competition for Fedor to make good fights. most fans really don't want to see Fedor fight another can.
I don't think any fans wanna see Fedor fight another can. Bo-dog didn't make money because the fight was in Russia, which is a VERY shallow market for MMA still. Smaller org. won't be able to pay up unless it has some deep pockets i.e Mark Cuban.
UFC wouldn't want to do a one fight deal, in case that he comes in and looks amazing. Wherever Fedor went after that one fight, would have just got a huge promotional boost from the UFC fans who would follow Fedor's moves after that.
