I dont think he beats Pirog or Martinez at 160. If Jacobs muscles up a bit, his speed coulld trouble a few fighters at 168, whether he has got the chin for it might be a problem. I thought I read somewhere that he wanted another shot at Pirog, so not sure why he would move up if that were the case. Jacobs went from being a prospect, to having a loss and now being written off quite quickly, I dont think Jacobs is done though, maybe he just needs more rounds against experienced fighters.
IMHO, they just want him active. He needs a lot of work before they think of taking on talents like Pirog or Martinez. From what I saw? Pirog is just too good for Danny. Strength? Check. Skill? Check. Raw athleticism? Check. Pirog has him in spades. I would say the same goes for Martinez. He may just be the type of fighter that needs a bit more time to develop skills versus relying on "gifts". I am a little unsure of where he goes from here. It damn sure is not out of the frying pan again.
When you put people on your ignore list, you can still use the 'view post' option to look at their posts without taking them off ignore. I used that option on Someguy101's original post on this thread. Yep -- ignore list was the right choise.
Jacobs might turn it down... I think the division has already noticed the kid's potential, nobody wants to be the first highly ranked guy to get KTFO by Russ Anber's only protege. Ishe Smith declined the December offer (2 weeks notice), but could be inclined to accept another one if they give him a 5-6 weeks notice. Jacobs would be nuts to make the jump to SMW. Those Pirog nightmares won't go away, Danny.
I understand you are one of his friends, or something like that. He's your older cousin maybe. Jacobs outboxing Johnson, Froch and Bute? :rofl
Jacobs should just stay active and improve his skills, 160 or 168 it doesn't really make any difference.
:deal He's only 23. He needs to iron out his flaws. There's no need for him to jump into a fight that he is going to get a beating in. He can still have a decent future. What is the rush.
