Yeah, apparently. And his character is still ridiculously unsympathetic. It was crazy to me that he had no self-awareness. Then again, most people believe they are right, no matter how wrong they may be.
After the movie was released, Jake and Vikki supposedly explored a reconciliation, but after a while, Vikki said the same old Jake began to surface.
Raging Bull probably made Jake look like a better person than he was, if that's even possible. It left out some of his worse offenses. yes, I heard he just did a signing at a mall in L.I. N.Y. glove signing and poasters but I heard it was the last time he would be doing it.
According to the stories that LaMotta talked about in the book Raging Bull, the movie made him look like a saint in comparison. Terrific fighter, disgusting person.
"But guys like you and I attract garbage. But every once in awhile something beautiful comes in our lives and we have to see." The first part is incredibly fore-telling on Jake's part at this point. Not that he meant that, but the quote looks great reflecting on it now.
