He is the GOAT in McDonalds. Seriously speking though, while I cannot stand the ignorant fool, I have to admit he is quite an accomplished fighter(great resume) with tremendous skills. He should be on that list, unless he had been on roids all along.
let's see... he has held titles in 3 weight class, 160, 168, 190. If you count his beatdown of Ruiz, then 4. Plus, in all three times he held a title, he was rated as the best at that category. Save of course at 168 when RJJ took his title, but that's another story. next, his resume is clogged with names champs and contenders at the time when 160 and 168 are full of strong fighters. Lastly, he brought his mettle the heavyweight division, fighting evenly with guys who are naturally bigger. I'll say yes.
Well I'd say his 'win' over Ruiz is tainted and shouldn't be accounted when evaluating Toney's career.
No question He won world titles at middleweight, super middleweight, cruiserweight, and won a heavyweight title despite it being taken away from him. That in itself is a tremendous accomplishment. Add that with his wins over Michael Nunn, Mike McCallum x 2, Evander Holyfield, Vassiliy Jirov, Iran Barkley, Reggie Johnson, Charles Williams, Tim Littles, etc and you've got a top 100 great. I have him in the top 70
