Let's see how he does against a fellow repsected prospect, a current top ten heavyweight first or (gasp) a top 5 heavyweight before we put him next to Muhammad Ali and Joe Louis.
No, I don't see it. Right now he's still just an unproven prospect and he needs to improve a lot if he's to get the best of his natural talent. Talent alone isn't enough and what talent he does have isn't so astounding that he can simply rely on that like Wilder did. He isn't a big heavyweight, his power after the Martin fight seems unspectacular, he's currently on the path to being another Parker level heavyweight. Fast hands, average power, limited skill set, who is getting hyped by his supporters but not really doing anything to back up that hype. I don't expect him to step up any time soon, he'll be carefully managed and moved into an eliminator and then hopefully get a vacant title shot once Fury and Usyk retire. That way I can see him picking up an easy title and then they can try and milk him. I don't see greatness in his future, just mediocrity.
He doesn't want it. Every time I see him in an interview, he's talking about how he doesn't like boxing, he wants a way out, needs people motivating him... It's only about money.... It's just a short matter of time before he packs it in mentally. I'll say he's gonna do that his first tough fight, or when he fights someone who fights back.
GOAT? So you think he could be as good as even some of the guys from the 90s such as Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson to name a few not to mention countless others over history? How old are you?
All you need to do is compare Anderson to Shannon Briggs as he was coming up the ranks. Briggs looks like a monster compared to Anderson.
I'm an Anderson supporter and want to see him do big things in the sport, but GOAT? I don't think so, I'm not sure he even surpasses Wilder.
That would be about the single stupidest thing they could do. At only 23, Anderson has time on his side and need not even concern himself with the likes of Wilder, Fury, Usyk or Joshua.
I think Dubois has a future and if he hangs around could be top 3 material but I don't see him ever being number 1.
If,, if he progresses and learns his craft at 29 years of age with say 35 fights under his belt he could be very formidable......IF.
You know who I would like to see Anderson fight? Like as maybe a gatekeeping fight? It he whups well prepared Andy Ruiz (who appears to have layed off the In and Out burgers a bit recently) I could maybe get on board the train. Also, I liked him better in his pimpin' garb than as Batman. Have had my fill of cape****.
hey it’s the only real way to answer the OP’s Question of Is Jared Anderson the next HW GOAT? i am clearly joking about Mr Anderson’s proposed path - As a promoter I would never As a jackass fan however … Truth is that’s indeed how you arrive to the answer - especially if the kid is retiring at 27. Time is a ticking.
