Who thinks the guy has his best days behind him? Hopefully he gets a win tonight as when he was in his prime was brilliant.

Just out of interest if Taylor fought Hopkins again today who would win?

Would hopkins do it this time?

Far from being finished. He enters the tournament as a potential winner as all other 5 fighters, and given the dozens of pro Taylor threads, fans realize he has an excellent chance in the first round as well.

Hopkins is a whole different story. No doubt JT was at 100%, but IMO Hopkins' weight problems made him fight at about 80%. No way I'm making excuses for the old fox (the close/debated decision is what to debate), but BHop looked a lot fresher, more energetic, bigger and stronger at 170 & 175, because he wasn't drained. IMO today's BHop would definitely beat the best JT at 168, him being the bigger/stronger/fresher man this time, not the other way around. It's a huge difference.

The fight with Abraham will show us if he's finished or not. Right now I don't know for sure who'll win that one, but I'm leaning towards a Taylor points victory..... providing there's no robbery.

Thing is, if JT wins people will say AA was a bum, that's the way **** works on this forum. I think Abraham is a fine fighter and even if he loses this one, he could still do alright in the super 6. I certainly don't see him getting KO'd or taking a beat down, I think Taylor will win, but perhaps only just.

I like the "no way I'm making excuses" then the next paragraph is all excuses!! Taylor won. Get over it. Hopkins weight drained? He always boast that he stays around his fight weight even when he has no fight! So all of a sudden he was weight drained? Give it up!

As for the OP's question? Is JT finished? Well, how can you even say that after his performance with Froch? He's far from finished - still a major player for a while yet if he wants to be!

I hope Taylor gets a fair decision tonight, but being in Germany im not so sure. I reckon he has to knock old Iron chin out which is near impossible. Taylor looks pretty big compared to Abraham so this could be important.

For Taylor v Hopkins at Light heavy i just could not see Hopkins losing. But this is no disgrace to Taylor at all, as said before, the comfortable weight divisions come in to play big time.
