That reasoning must be the fact that :-

    A) Froch has been smashed on the chin by full blooded Super middleweights for years and has never flinched. Also the fact that he has never been down as a 130 fight World medal winning amateur or WBC champion.

    B) Taylor has such thunderous power that the guy has not had a stoppage since February 2005 (nearly 3 whole years ago). Despite fighting a raft of Welterweights and light-middles 5'7 in height. Unless you cant the Pavlik stoppage...... oh wait.

TAYLOR GETS WASTED BY FROCH :hi:

How love how some people like to step in and post one these very insightful messages full of well thought arguments.

I also like the option "Add to ignore list?".

That is possible (though unlikely as he has a fairly decent chin on him and Taylor wasn't KOing welterweights). However, completely beside the point here.

One word. Ignorance. The only guys there who have built their resume against trash fighters are Ward and Dirrell thus far. This is why the rest of the world gets so fcuked off with some US boxing fans (not the knowledgeable ones such as yourself), the attitude is it's not in the States or on HBO so it doesn't exist. All of those fighters, be they Froch (UK), Kessler (Denmark), Bute (Canada), Inkin (Russia) or whoever have respect from most of the world who watch boxing outside their own doorstep. It is simply Joe six pack in the states who thinks that anything that doesn't happen there doesn't matter. I'm sorry if this comes across as a rant against America or the knowledgeable boxing fans there because it is not intended that way, just directed at some of the more ignorant element.

There is one option that is very real, makable and makes a lot of sense and that is against Kessler. But Maybe Taylor is not ready for that yet.

I am aware that Joppy had a razor thin (basically even) win over Eastman. However, since then he had fought twice in three years, a one-sided beatdown against Hopkins and a win over a no-name. Plus he had been in troublee with the law and not living a professional lifestyle. Eastman had rebounded with seven wins over a fair-to-middling level of opposition and I believe was the tougher proposition at this time. In any case, Taylor was perfectly happy to face Eastman and had agreed to the fight until he realised he'd have to travel for it. He may not have been better off as it transpired because the WBC let him have a shot after Eastman anyway. However, a true warrior with hunger to prove himself would not, IMO, allow the fact that he might have to get his passport out to stand in the way of getting a title shot.

In terms of Froch, Taylor may well be the bigger draw in the States. However, again, it is a case of do you want a title shot or are you happy facing no-names on the domestic circuit? Froch has the belt, looking at it from a purely boxing perspective as opposed to a business one it is up to Taylor to come and get it (or else put a very generous offer on the table to entice Froch to travel). The same if he shoots for Kessler, Bute or Inkin. It just seems to me that the Taylor camp seem to think it is their divine right to have these fights at home and are trying to stack the deck in their man's favour as much as possible rather than going after the fights which will make his legacy. Just my opinion and if he does fight Bute in Montreal I'll glady reconsider it, however, for now I have to say actions speak louder than words.

Half a dozen world class (i.e. top 10) super middleweights which is more than Taylor has at the moment. Taylor is still a-d-j-u-s-t-i-n-g to the weight and finding his way after two defeats, maybe it would be good to get another irrelevant, but confidence building, fight in prior to going after the division top dog.

I dont see how I was disrespectful to Taylor :huh

Who can blame him for wanting another fight before facing Kessler in order to get used to the new weightclass? The same goes for Froch, who can blame him for taking an easy fight as his first defence.

No he isnt out of options, he has the most options available to him out of anybody at 168. He can fight anybody he choses from 154 to 175 IF HBO back him.

Thats a ****in big IF by the way.

Damned. A reasonable post? How many people would be howling if Taylor did fight for the belt his first fight at 168? What did he do to earn that shot? (note "damned" has no asterisks......:rofl )

Ummm..... Look at the size of the pool we draw on. You have to combine Europe and part of Asia to get the same size pool there. Now compare the fans of those two pools and tell me they are vastly different in their 'insularity' and 'isolation'.

    I mean financially.

I mean boxing fans around the world are more familiar with Taylor than Froch.

I mean that Taylor is currently the most sought after opponent at 168.

    Take your pick.
