I think so. If I were handling Kessler and you want him to make some waves off the back of last year's defeat to Calzaghe, look no further. Taylor offers Kessler a big american name, little serious attacking threat and a poor chin. Kessler would make this guy fold by the mid rounds increasing his stock and leapfrogging the Mundine/Miranda "fights". Would be a great move for Mikkel.
I don't want this fight just yet, we need to see Taylor fight a legitamate 168 pounder first. And Kessler just has to fight someone, anyone, for God sake so much talk of him the man needs to make a fight now.
that was my prediction for the fight but i forgot to change that. now tell me..since when has taylor got a bad chin?
Easy, Taylor's lack of defence means he's going to get clipped over and over by the right hand, left hook and occassional uppercut and he lacks the accuracy and poise to get his own significant work in. I'd love for this to happen just so it shows the difference in class between the top SMW's and the top MW's. This would be very dominate, if not Kessler picking up every single round. Kessler would stop him on accumulation though, wouldn't be a KO.
You think Taylor would win 4 rounds from Kessler? I think you can be certified as insane if you think Taylor wins more than 2 rounds here. And that would be if the fight was in Little Rock and Kessler misplaced his gloves for the first 6 minutes. This would be an absolute domination.
Yes, but my point is that Taylor will be eating many shots every round and when he gasses, the accumulation + the stamina issue's lead to the stoppage, as it did vs. Pavlik, perhaps sooner though because he will give Kessler little in return as a competitive fight. Kessler's defence is very good and he's too well schooled to be trading with Taylor, he'll just accurately sharp shoot him and once a groove gets established, it'll be all downhill from there. I could see Taylor getting maybe a round, but he's at a horrible stylistic disadvantage here against Kessler and is at the mercy of a much more well schooled athlete.
