Is it just me that thinks Kessler's footwork is actually good? He seems to be pinned as some sort of stationary robot type in here

I see precise subtle movement, that serves its purpose given his style

He lacks head movement, but doesn't lack defence, his upper body movement is very good and he avoids shots very well. Taylor's defence is horrible by comparison.

Taylor had good head movement, but still gets hit MUCH more than Kessler, head movement is not all there is to defence....:yep

But compare it to the elites; PBF, Calzaghe etc.

His footwork is allright considering his style, but nothing spectacular.

Kessler needs to take a leaf out of Joe's (new) book and go to America and carve out a name for himself there. If Taylor wants to fight, Kessler should fight him in the States. Hell, Kessler should just go and base himself in the states full stop. Calzaghe's legacy will always be in doubt because he stayed in the uk so long. Kessler should look at Joe's career as what not to do.

Yeah, he should go abroad and fight Taylor - and I don't think he would mind at all. Taylor would have none of Kessler until the dane has some bling(WC belt) though.

--------------------- On topic on a fight vs Taylor ---------------------

Kessler has higher workrate, better jab, more precision than Taylor - and lastly is heavier than Taylor on fight-night. Jermain would be in a world of pain - I imagine. Calzaghe was simply too smart and too awkward for Kessler - but I think JC is the only one who can beat him - unless he enters some sort of decline(Kessler).

PS @Blocky - good to have you back...

Taylor should beat Kessler. Kessler has only fought 1 top fighter in his career and lost easily.

Taylor would also beat this fraud. Taylor has consistantly fought the better fighter, beating better guys in the process. Taylor easy.

I have more respect for Jermain than an all out *****/fraud like Kessler.

Agreed, is boxers ever traded between promoters, like footballers etc? That would be perfect for Kessler IMO. Palle is not managing his career very competently, see the Miaranda situation for example. Same goes for trainer, it was a nightmare to follow him during the Calzaghe fight. ..............Your losing, hit him harder.......... I mean I could have said that, and i end up on the floor when ever i put on gloves and try to spar. :!:

How can you possibly think that Kessler will get hit more than Pavlik!
Kessler is not well known for defending with his chin. For Kessler not having footwork - watch the Andrade fight.

watch a Kessler fight dammit. Ask Calzaghe if Kessler can fight backwards and on the inside - Oh.. wait, I understand, Pavlik or anyone remotely american would walk right through Calzaghes slaps, right?
