Anderson would imo beat him with the jab and walk him down. Anderson is mediocre but Franklin doesn't have power to keep him honest. Franklin is also shorter and keeps the combinations close so Andersons can probably pull off his amateur lean back style
Anderson is level under Franklin. Franklin would completely neutralize his jab and counter him all night long. Anderson struggled against old Charles Martin. This guy has nothing on Franklin. Oh, he has actually, Jarred has hype, that's all. And Anderson has also mental issues, he doesn't have mentality.
And what does that mean? Franklin can not keep improving? Franklin is a raw material. Improving in every fight. Anderson on the other side is declining. They have to even find D/E level fighters for him after that terrible fight against Martin. Prime Martin would KO the soul from Anderson.
Improving in every fight based on what? He beat 2 bums after fighting Forrest (while looking the same as always), then had a 50/50 fight with a shopworn Whyte, barely won a round against AJ and in his last fight fought a low level opponent again.
He fights low level, because he is becoming a boogeyman. He has the ability to make other boxers look stupid. Whyte passed his prime, but he would beat all B-fighters including Wilder. I would like to see Wilder vs Franklin and Whyte vs Wallin eliminator. Winners fight each other and losers fight each other.
Actually I don't see the reason why Wilder vs Franklin can not be on the undercard "Ring on Fire Usyk vs Fury". This undercard bout could be called: "American Civil War - The North against the South, General Grant vs General Lee, General Wilder vs General Franklin." I am sure promo trailer in costumes would be fkin awesome. Just carefel with costume with Wilder, can not be too heavy. But this will not happen. I will tell why. Because Wilder is waiting for a big pay day. He doesn't want to stay busy and improve his craft. He knows he would lose against Franklin. Franklin would make him miss and counter all night long. Franklin is too clever of a cat.
This actually depends on who is rating him. He is not in the top 15 of the WBA or WBC rankings. He is the IBF #14 while the WBO has him ninth. That is pretty much representative of fans. Some don't think he is anything special while some others think he deserves to be in the lower ranks of the contenders. For me, anytime a fighter's biggest talking points are his losses he is probably overrated. That is the case with Franklin. As @MidniteProwler noted, he has a spoiler style. This helps him look competitive with fighters much better than he actually is. The reality is that even on his best day he really couldn't beat legit top five fighters.
