JT should be making his announcement soon if he's staying in the tournemantt or not. Recently Lou DiBella dropped him as a concern for his health. What do you all think? Should he stay?

IMO JT is a proud and honorable warrior and will stay in for at least another round, although its not in his best interest.

Jermain is one of my favorite fighters...It was nice to see him take the 160lb title and he had a nice run...He isn't the same fighter anymore though and he needs to retire...He has been brutally knocked out in his last 2 fights and I don't wanna see a fighter as skilled as Taylor get knocked out again...its sad to see him fight but hopefully the next will be his last and he can start commentating or go into some other part of the sport!

I say he should retire, His punch resistance has to be depleting, anymore knockouts could have long term effects on him

Why should he retire? He lost a fight by KO so?, he can still qualify and win the tournament. I hope he beats Andre Ward and makes some noise in that tournament.

He said he wants to fight for at least another round. I actually think he has a chance againts Ward and Kessler. Wish him all the best, one of my favourites!

a fight ? Lets see brutal 12th round KO to Abraham that resulted in a concussion, 6 months before brutal 12th round KO loss to Froch where he was dropped 3 times, September 2007 just alittle over 2 years ago he was brutally KOed by Kelly Pavlik. So thats 3 violent KO losses in 2 years and now hes guranteed to be facing Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler 2 elite fighters who have decent power and will land time after time after time on him but its ok. Is it going to be ok when the guy slips into a coma and we read on espnnews boxer Jermain Taylor dies ?

I was an advocate of Jermain retiring. However, I wouldn't mind seeing him have one more fight. That's mostly because I am very anxious to see Ward catch a knee in his nuts and an elbow across his face. Make no mistake about it, win-lose-or draw, as soon as Ward starts in with his bull**** tactics, Jermain WILL retaliate.

I think he´ll stay in the tournament at least for the next round. Ward is not a hard puncher like Froch or Abraham. So the chance of getting knocked out isn´t very high for Taylor. Maybe he can even pull the upset and UD Ward to become Worldchampion again.

But if his health-status is really serious, nothing of the things above matter and he should retire to do a favor to himself and his family.

Id hate to see or hear of any harm coming to Jermain. Its a decision he has to make as to whether he stays or goes.
Jermain has been a true champ beating Hopkins twice and then taking on Wright.
All of Taylors loses have had positives in he was ahead before Pavlik KOd him, & fought him to a close decision in the rematch. Was beating Froch before the KO, and was probably ahead at the half way point against Abraham, before the KO. The downside to his loses is theres alot of KO loses.
A part of me would like to see Taylor win a big fight for his own self esteem & leave on a high, but in truth its probably best he left now with his health.
Good luck to him in whatever he does.

Have to agree with the consensus here, dont know how many more brutal KO's JT can take.... I will be rooting for him against Ward.

Even if he was to drop out, would Miranda or Green do any better against this level of opposition? I highly doubt it.

If you look at his KO losses, its a gradual downslide.....against Pavlik he almost had him out and dominated the early rds....against Froch he had him hurt and was ahead on the cards before 12th.....against Abraham he was being outworked and was behind on all cards going into the 12th.

In he was easily outboxing AA. Before AA got desperate and landed the hail mary punch.

He'll have comeback of the year wrapped up early if he beats Ward.
