Is Jim Lampley the most biased commentator in boxing?

I can't stand jim lamply I to have to turn the volume down its awful he gets excited when someone throws shots into no mans land and just scuffs the opponent and says wow did you see that he gets paid for talking **** the only thing he's good at is talking about the boxers negativity in a boxers life he in my book is a coach ****yst don't anything about boxing just stats that don't add up off putting and misleading arrogant to real boxers and feels he knows best over someone actually been in the ring teaching the average fan **** and non apologetic and he's gets paid for it, long over due for him to go

I like him better than the PBC guys. At least Lampley actually follows the sport on a regular basis. You get the sense that Al Michaels and Marv Albert rarely even watch boxing any more.

I do think HBO is biased, but so is SHO. Lampley does have his favorites, and Kellerman always loves to defend boring fighters. But none compare to the level of anti-Pacquiao bias displayed by Paulie Malignaggi.

Haha ya, on the first PBC broadcast Michaels and Albert were talking about the rumble in the jungle and the thrilla in manila. It became clear over the course of the broadcast that those were the last boxing matches they actually saw...

I hear this because this is basically the way I watch fights but what's being said does matter because not everyone has this ability. So, it ends up influencing mass opinion in an untrue and therefore negative way. Everyone ends ****ed off about some "robbery" that occurred or mislead about the quality of certain fighter which makes fights happen that should or should never happened, unfortunately, it matters man.

Agreed. For the first Manny/Bradley first they were making it out like it was a shutout. Manny won, not debating that for a second. But they're going on about how it would be generous to give Tim 2 rounds. Personally, I think I had it 8-4 for Manny. But their coverage was why that fight became such a HUGE deal. Then the talking heads who don't really know anything about boxing (Like Skip and Stephen A.) go on the air the next day and run with what they heard. Next thing you know they're on national television telling people to boycott PPV until corruption is fixed in the sport.

As if anything new has happened in the last 100 years to change that...

Mark my words, when Don King goes bald there will be no more corruption in boxing. The spirit of corruption draws power directly from his hair.

Emanuel Steward and Gil Clancy were the best boxing commentators/****ysts.

    R.I.P. to both.

Shame they never got to see this fight.

No, he's God-awful. He has a habit of calling punches that just haven't connected or in some cases haven't been thrown. Last weekend was a good example of his continued inaccuracy but here's a great video that ends any doubt:

He is definitely biased and can be very misleading at times by not calling a fight accurately and having to be corrected by someone like Jones who knows what the hell they are seeing. I can imagine him doing blow by blow for a porn scene and Roy having to constantly correct him. "Hard c*ck in her mouth now". "No Jim, it's still soft". "He smoothly whips her around to doggie style position". "Uhh actually Jim it's reverse cowgirl". "Here comes the money shot!" "No Jim (laughing) that was pre-cum".
