This post? I never changed any goal posts, you are just wrong...again. Maxim was the only I ever said was a heavy when Bivins fought him. I can't help it if you imagine things.

7 out of 11 opponents were HWs when Bivins fought them.

    -Maxim 178, RING #10 HW

-Bettina 185 1/2 last rated as RING #4 HW

-Lee Murray 202 lbs RING #3 and #6 HW

    -Lee Savold 195

-Bob Pastor 184,183 RING #3 HW

    -Tami Mauriello 180, 187 RING #2 HW

    -Pat Valentino 184

And you, not for the first time, are just plain wrong.

I never argued those men listed as heavies..bar Maxim, who was. You tried to deny Marshall, Charles, and Chris were Light Heavies when Bivins fought them, saying it was bull****, when in fact they were and top rated ones at that. I corrected you.

Maybe you can start another thread about being wrong again.

I'm still waiting for a single instance where I changed a goal post in this thread.

Real instances, not imagined ones, like crazy old McVey came up with.

    :huh

    Hello.

Is Bivins 1-11 versus Moore, Charles, Pastor, Johnson and Walcott at heavyweight?

No. 2-11. A HW 186 lb Bivins KOed Moore in 45.

Worth noting that 10 of those losses happened after 1945. Bivins started to slip after his 12 month lay off and never seemed to recapture his old form while the elite caught up with him and several like Charles and Moore surpassed him.

    1942-1946

Bivins as a HW was 10-1-1 against Gus, Maxim, Mauriello, Sheppard, Bettina, Pastor, Murray and Moore*.

Of these men, Moore was under the LHW. Gus was the LHW Champion but he often fought at HW in non-title bouts like this one. The rest were rated as HWs at the time of the fights.

Bivins as a LHW was 3-0 Christoforidis, Marshall, Charles.

All three men came in under the LHW limit and were top rated LHWs.

    Yes, that's true.

The story i've read is that Bivins got a proper hiding from MP's, suffered a head (or neck) injury and was never the same.

    It's still a bit disturbing.

Thanks, that would make alot of sense. Reports of him physically not being the same after his return despite still being in his 20s. A neck or head injury would make sense, very sad if true, Bivins was not a lucky man.

Yanks don't do irony they don't get it.

Bivins had 112 fights ,50 of them were at under 180lbs,28 under the lhvy limit 14 under the middleweight limit.

I started out agreeing Bivins had a fine run but pointed out that some of those victories were over men named by Suzie would today would be classed as middles/ super middles,Charles and Marshall , Moore,Christoforidis are four cases. Therefore his list of victims isn't quite so stellar as it at first glance appears.
Your opinion is irrelevant to me.

If you were half as smart as you think you are you would still be struggling to qualify as a half whit.

-A misleading stat that ignores the fine details.

Bivins had 20 fights as a MW in 1940. Though he had some LHW opponents like top rated Christoforidis.

Bivins had 6 LHW fights in 1941. And two disasterous HW efforts, once while under HW limit.

Bivins had 8 HW fights against HW opponents in 1942.

Bivins had 3 successful LHW fights in 1943 and 8 HW fights.

From 1944-1954 has 65 fights as a HW. 7 of these opponents are at or under the LHW limit.

Bivins had 82 fights over 175 lbs.
Bivins had 30 fights under 175 lbs.
Bivins had 36 opponents under 175 lbs.

Bivins was a Heavyweight for 73% of his fights. And 20 of his 30 MW/LHW bouts were in the first year of his career.

-Modern weight classes are irrelevant. Bivins, Charles, Marshall, and Christoforidis were in the same Weight Class when they fought. End of.

    -Nah.

I don't know much about baseball, but didn't they keep stats?
