Yep, pretty much it. Although as I say, both Chang and Villa should be 75+.

Wilde was banging fully grown men out from the age of 14 after being taught how to BOX by his future father in law(himself a mountain fighter of note ) up in the front bedroom of his then girlfriend ( future wife ) Liz Beths house , back in the old days here in the south Wales coal fields times were hard and many a man fought at the drop of a hat to put a little extra on the table so you can bet your bollocks Wilde was KO'ing some tough skillfull boxers out even as s youth ( boxrec fails to mention anything about the other 300 approximate battles Jimmy had ) for anyone to suggest Wilde shouldn't be placed around the top 10 P4P hardest punchers of all time are talking out if their arse , Jesus Christ the TOP medical boffins were always studying the wee man in an attempt to discover where his freakish power came from, the only explanation Wilde ever offered up to solve the mystery was that he thought it came from hacking away for 12 hours a day into a confined space at a coal seem 300 feet under ground , and if anyone had a clue as to it then that would be Jimmy himself I reckon .

As always :good Seems Wilde, like Fitz, gained his freakish power through hard labour as he was developing as a lad.

Yes Flea mate I agree and like Tunney said at the time ( if thus little fellow was my weigt then he would be champ ) a have looked at Jimmys career in a bit if detail and the biggest break Jimmy ever had was missing out on the first tour of America he tried to qualify for as the guy selected ahead of him went down on the mode of transport taking him there ( TITANIC ) just think we could have been robbed of his entire career :( Btw we were well and truly robbed when Villa checked out so young dying of the same thing that killed young Darcy ( tooth infection ) Darcy I reckon would have been an ATG from what I have read of him . Ps sorry about the typos lads , Typing on a frigging phone lol

Jack Johnson also had a near miss getting on the Titanic as well.

He applied for first class tickets but blacks were only allowed 2nd or 3rd class tickets so he turned them down.

Nice import Josey! I had no idea Wilde was suppose to be on the Titanic! Nice story that. Your right, how anyone can not have him top 10 is beyond me. He was a genetic freak as u rightly say. And it pisses me off when people peel off his Boxrec records as the be all and end all. As a few lads said earlier in the thread, his opponents were not well covered (Boxrec claims one of his opponents made their debute fighting for his British title which was obviously not the case)

Thanks, never knew that :good I still haven't seen any footage of Darcy, but have always been interested in him and obviously, by all accounts he was a beast. Darcy Vs Greb :-(

Good on him and thank **** for that.

Good list right there. A similar thread has also been doing the rounds in one of the other forums.

    Richard Evatt? Gary Mason maybe?

They beat nobodies, I'd never claim anything to the contrary, but they did appear to be big hitters in their primes.

Do you think they rank anywhere near the top 10/15 or does their opposition let them down?

Mason certainly had heavy clubbing hands. Never seen him actually sparking peeps though, only seen him against Lennox and...I think James Tillis (it went to points anyways) Good shout on Evatt :scaredas:

I guess they'd be around the same bracket as Alexander (and Thaxton???) as massive punchers that weren't World class fighters. So yeah, probably around that level. George Smith had some reel highlight reel K.Os as well.

EDIT: Found a video of Smith for those that don't remember him.

Eubank, when he wanted to, was a big hitter, so I'd put him above these guys as he at least stopped World class opposition.

Maybe Chris Pyatt? He's looked a solid hitter whenever I've watched him.

I've seen Mason knock Tyrell Biggs almost out cold. Nice little right hand (a short one), slightly delayed reaction from Biggs, but he was absolutely ****ed and was not getting up. Was a nice KO from Mason.

I've not seen any of Pyatt's work, but it looks like he's definetely up there with Evatt and Alexander based on his record, and that savage left hook in the video above. A good shout.

Pyatt was actually a decent fringe World guy, but I've also not seen enough of his work to judge his power completely.

I'll check out Mason Vs Biggs, who is a good gauge for that era :good

I see he fought Ste Collins, Action Jackson and shot Kalambay amongst other decent-ish Middleweights.

Tempted to check out some more of his work :good.
