Additionally, not to question the credibility of your source or anything, but Max Kellerman has been guilty of some rather ambitious statements in the past. Here's two of them.

"Zab Judah is Pernell Whitaker with power".

"Joe Calzaghe would defeat Michael Spinks".

    Good for you!

Right after MAB beat Hamed.....knowing that JMM wanted the winner of that fight, he said......"I'm not a featherweight, I think I might go right back down to 122 lbs."

.....in response to that JMM was quoted as saying, "I can make 122 lbs, if he wants to fight there, I'll fight him there."

.......needless to say MAB stayed put at 126 lbs but did'nt fight JMM.....

....instead, 3 of MAB's next 4 fights were against clearly past it, if not already shot fighters in Enrique Sanchez, Johnny Tapia, and Kevin Kelley......none who had even a realistic chance to compete against any top tier featherweight.

......lets be real here, MAB lost to the best fighters he ever faced.......Jones, Morales, Pacquiao, and Marquez.

.......and he has clearly lost to 3 of those 4 names.
No one else on MAB's resume is on the level of Jones, Pacquiao, Marquez.....

......and dont even bring Hamed into the discussion.
Hamed was a physical freak but he had little skill, which is why he went right into retirement after not having a clue vs MAB.
Every top tier featherweight of Hamed's era beats him and beats him handily!

......so Addie, when you day MAB's resume is better than JMM's, I dont see it.....other than Morales there is'nt another great fighter that MAB ever beat.
JMM's and MAB's resume are quite similar in caliber.
MAB's Morales, is JMM's Pacquiao, those caliber opponents are on par with eachother and the rest of the resume from both fighters are quite similar.

.......and I'll repeat what Max Kellerman alluded to in the clip, you cant fight what does'nt want to fight you.
Just ask MAB after dismissal of Marquez as an opponent right after his win over Hamed.
.......MAB was heading back to 122 lbs when the name JMM was mentioned to him.:lol::lol:

    Good stuff. :good

MAB ducked Marquez to fight that bum, Erik Morales.

    Good stuff. :good

That's probably a good thing considering a woefully past prime MAB ran Marquez close and had him on the canvas on the end of a right hand.

After fighting Erik Morales twice and Naseem Hamed in a two year period, I can forgive MAB for fighting some of the lesser fighters at 126lbs.

MAB was at the end of his tether by the time he finally fought Juan Manuel Marquez, and Junior Jones caught lightning in a bottle. The rematch was close and debatable, whereas I had Morales losing all three of his battles with MAB. No shame in losing to a fighter as good as Manny Pacquiao, who simply had the Mexicans number.

    Revisionist History.

The difference being that MAB actually defeated the great fighters he fought, including Naseem Hamed, who had made 15 title defenses, and who went into the fight as a heavy favorite among journalists and Boxing fans, alike.

Marquez earned himself a draw against the Filipino. Congratulations to him.

    Good stuff.

Kellerman was stating an opinion of the potential he saw in Zab Judah at the time, as when he said it, Judah was a raw talent up and comer........

We all make opinions of raw talent like that. Alot of people in this forum for example have drawn their conclusions on what a fighter like Canelo Alvarez for example will become.......he may or may not reach that superstar status.......some will be right and others wrong on Canelo.....they are stating an opinion seeing the raw talent not yet put through the real tests......

.....However, Kellerman's opinion of the featherweight era came after witnessing the end of it.
After that featherweight era had all been said and done!

Man, I know people at the moment are caught up in the Floyd-Pacman saga, but seriously, if it wasn't for that, you know JMM vs. Bradley, Alexander, Ortiz, Maidana, Khan, or Rios would be some classic fights and should be getting alot of attention. I in particular would love JMM vs. Alexander whether he Alexander wins or loses vs. Bradley he's a powerful lefty with flaws. I'd like to see how a JMM-Alexander confrontation would result. Khan and Bradley I think are just bad fights for JMM where I wouldn't pick him to win, but I wouldn't count him out.

I don't see why JMM is rated so high. He either fought old legends or didn't beat Pacman, and lost to Chris John and outclassed by Floyd. What is so great?

Two of the worst comments I've ever heard. If Kellerman was a member of this website, he would be considered the equal of braindead troll goons like Headbanger and NALLEGE.

Marquez could have fought Hamed but he turned down what would have then been a career-high payday. If he had beaten Hamed he could have gotten a fight with whoever he wanted but like with Pacquiao he was too greedy. And this is coming from a JMM lover.

Also Jones certainly didn't catch lightning in a bottle.
