No, I mean because Roberto Duran was a greater fighter than Carlos Mozon.

Easy pick. That JCC guy never made it to The Contender.

    Definitely.

Chavez was Mosley's sparring partner for Christ sake, Mora actually fought Sugar in a competitive match-up. Non-comparable.

That first fight with Leonard he fought like a man possessed and could not be denied. Had he fought that way with Lang and Benitez I'm sure he'd take those fights. He didn't fight with the same urgency after the Leonard loss.

Well, Lopez went 51-0-1 25-0-1 in title fights w/ 21 title defenses at 105.

I always criticized Lopez for not moving up to fight Carbajal and Gonzalez, but he finally convinced me against Alvarez, especially the rematch. Alvarez failed to make weight at 108 1/4, then at a second weigh-in scaled 114 (pound under a newly contracted 115). Lopez weighed 103 1/2.

Despite the obvious size advantage and several cuts (mainly from Alvarez' head), Lopez out-worked him for a split decsion in what I thought was the 98 FOTY.

Zarate, until he made that ill-advised comeback, had retired at 54-2, 53 KOs. He was 10-2 in title fights plus his "non-title" KO win over co-champion Zamora. He is arguably the biggest puncher in bantamweight history.

Now Gomez did kick his @ss, but Wilfredo got away with a lot in PR that he wouldn't have in Vegas. He didn't stay in the neutral corner after the first KD. The second KD was after the bell and he continued to hit him even after that. Finally, he hit him when he was down in the fifth. If he'd pulled that sh!t in Mexico, he've needed a police escort to all the way to the airport.

And I thought he won 10 outta the 1st 11 rounds against Pintor. IMO you'd have to give Lupe five 10-8 rounds just for him to get a draw. Watch Pintor's reaction when they called his name...

Yeah. I don't think his title defenses came against a very good level of competition, which is why I have a hard time ranking Lopez that highly.

    *Easy question... Salvador Sanchez.
*man..what a talent... he's possibly one of the most under-rated of all time as well... He gets overlooked time and time again... to have him in anything lower than 20 best ATG's..then it's a shame, but understandable cuz he died so young... at 23yrs old, he's an ATG... now that's alone is incredible.
*Sanchez would fight anyone... beat some very rugged fighters.. Ruben Castillo...Juan Laporte... not great fighters... but guys that could beat u or give u hell on any given day..his Career is packed with alot of these guys..rugged tough fighters... guys that separated real fighters from fake.
*Then u get into the greats he beat... Danny"little red"Lopez... man, i remember that guy was killing fighters before he fought "El Chava". Lopez had just come off the fight of the year KO of Mike Ayala and was just steam-rolling. When Sanchez got ahold of him, it was a boxing clinic.... many thought it was a fluke, so Sanchez did it again..both by KO.
*Wilfredo Gomez... possibly Puerto Rico's all time greatest fighter... and that's saying something. Gomez was supposed to wipe the floor with Sanchez... he was 30-0... with alot of KO's... the guy was hard and a beast. He was Puerto Rico's answer for anyone who screwed with them... Sanchez almost Ko's him in the first. He almost Ko'ed an all time great in the the first! A great boxing performance. People still talk about that fight..and it's possibly the start of the Mexican vs Puerto Rican boxing rivalry..it's a loss PR's never got over.
*If that's not enough... Sanchez takes on an undefeated upstart from Ghana... the classic Azuma Nelson... I got to give it to Nelson,..going 15 rounds with Sanchez... before getting KO'ed...! He Ko'ed Azuma...DAMNNNN!`
*It's a sad thing to see talent leave us so early in life... as great as Sanchez was, had he even reached his peak? Many say the greatest was
Chavez... but i think u'd be hard-pressed to find a true Mexican boxing fan pick Chavez over Sanchez...and,IMO..it's not even close.

There are always going to be guys getting rated who don't deserve it and they'll end up getting title fights. But Lopez destroyed these fighters the way they should have been destroyed. If he had struggled against Caraballo or Preecha or Park, you might have an argument.
