Eubanks destroyed Yildirim tonight and it seemed to me that theres more power behind his punches at smw rather than mw.
Obviously he has more weight behind the punch at smw but the guys are bigger that hes punching.
Sometimes when a fighter cuts weight, them last few pounds or so zap there energy. Ive seen fighters before who have decent power in there fists only to turn into powder puffs when they cut the final pounds.
There was some real spite in them punches tonight from jnr.
Maybe this kid loses his power when he does mw.
I think he hits harder lb for lb at smw.

    Abrahams and Skippy say hi.

A Turkish scrub doesn't really tell us anything.

He should hit a little harder but everyone hits harder at smw too. That said, the Turk fought like a bum. He got caught flush on the jaw with multiple hooks while coming forward and got put out of his misery. I can't really take anything from that fight.

I don't recall many posters on here calling Yildirim a 'Turkish scrub' prior to CEJ handing him his ass on a plate.....just saying.

He's a very good fighter that was the first time I've seen his opponent wasn't impressed but that was down to Jnr his combinations are class but I still think Groves beats him I think he can beat Smith though

Eubank is very fast and flashy but to me lacks good fundamentals and ring generalship, Saunders sort of exposed him and I feel he will be exposed again by a good opponent. He's very exciting nevertheless and is Box Office material should he find a good opponent.

Yildirim was like Abraham with less power and chin...

Might be alone in this but thought the stoppage was premature.

Eubank doesn't have much of a boxing brain, he relies solely on his physical attributes like speed and stamina. A clever world level operator with boxing IQ will always beat him. Saunders showed the way and Groves will have a field day with him. He actually has a better chance against Callum Smith but it won't happen.

Hes always had good power. Outside his first 6 or 7 fights hes stopped everyone hes beat but abraham. Cant get my head round claims of no power.

Always been a candidate for carrying his power up levels. A lot of the overmatched guys sit on the defensive all fight makes it harder to get the ko. The better guys dont need the same safety first approach...opens up more oppertunities for eubank to get the knockout.

That might change after last night tho the better guys might start to be a bit more wary of it from now.

Anyone thinking that Groves is having a field day with Eubank is off their tits. That analysis only takes into account Eubanks perceived weaknesses (he hasn't got low ring IQ) and Groves' strengths, not vice versa.

I live Groves', I've followed him since day 1 but he's only really made it to the fringe of world class and his chin/stamina have been exposed too often. He hasn't looked comfortable against a world class operator since round 6 of his first fight with Froch, he's found his level.

Junior is going to brutalise him, if it goes past 6 (which is about all that Groves can handle at Junior's pace) it's career ending for Groves.

I thought he was completely featherfisted at 168 after seeing the Quinlan and Abraham fights.

He was a different fighter last night against Yildirim, he actually took a different style despite facing a similar fighter again. Was it motivation? I hear the purses in this tournament are very generous, along with the carrot of a blockbuster vs Groves.

    What pace?

The only thing "off their tits" here is you thinking Eubank is going to have anywhere near the same output when he has to deal with the Groves jab.

Eubank done a fine job against 3 come forward fighters who suit his style perfectly, but what happened when he faced someone with boxing skills? He lost.

Chris Eubank Jr only had 26 Amateur fights and only 27 pro
fights. He is still learning and at 168 lbs he is not weakened
    by having to make weight.
It seems the training with Mayweather Sr has already paid
dividend's and only future bouts will tell if his new found
    power is a anomaly.

I'm a massive Groves fan but Eubank Jr will stop him within 8. He's too quick and the accumulation of shots will take their toll. It honestly wouldn't surprise me to see it over much quicker.
