Hopkins may have been 'too smart' for his own good here. He hurt Joe and then walked through him to make sure he went down and he got a point. Joe then gets the 8 count. Had he stayed up, Bhop might have been able to land a few more.
got barely past a 43 yr old legend in Hopkins, surely you are not counting Kessler or Lacy as the other legend? and since he hasnt gotten past Jones yet I will attest this to you being in obvious nutthugger mode months before the fight. Even while they prepare to roll out the carcass of what once was Jones.
If barely getting by an older Hopkins makes Calzaghe a legend killer, then Taylor has a better case. Calzaghe hasn't beaten Roy Jones yet and even if he does, it only puts him alongside Tarver and Johnson, which he also hasn't beaten.
The judging from Ms Byrd was a farce. It was unrepresentative. Calzaghe won, 115-112 clearly. It is not my fault if you can't score a fight. If a 115-112 loss shows what a legend Hopkins is then Calzaghe must be an utter legend. So as you would say, you've really proved the opposite of what you set out to Kessler is 29, so what? He has to get through this fight, he had to get a belt to become an attractive proposition for the Taylor's and Pavlik's of this world, otherwise why would they fight him? He is on course for legendary status, although he will probably not reach the lofty heights of Calzaghe
Hopkins is a legend, but he is almost 44, so his legend-building days are behind him. And even at geriatric age, he still took your boy to a controversial split decision, so even if you are confident Joe won, I wouldn't be screaming about legend killers. There's no point in arguing about Kessler now, let's wait and see. You think he is going to become a "legend", I think he's going to continue to be what he is and always has been- a good supermiddleweight champion, a good solid world title holder, but nothing special. We'll see. PS: I LOVE this poll score, ****ing lap it up boyos!!!
Of course they are behind them. He was coming off 2 wins, including beating the man at LHW and seemed reinvigorated at 175, until Joe brought that to an abrupt hault. He is like an oak tree that has had his biggest branch chopped off. What would it take for Mikkel to become a legend? Will he be a legend if he whoops Taylor and Pavlik (provided Abraham doesn't get their first and he beats Mary). It's easy to imagine.
