I'm an American and I say no, the man hid in wales for the majority of his career, then beat the ATGs when they were old and had already been beaten.

Absolutely not - but he could remedy that. Currently, Calzaghe beat a version of Roy Jones who should have never been in the ring with him, virtually or literally lost to Hopkins (depending on who you ask), and beat extremely basic and generic boxing talent's in Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler. If we call Joe Calzaghe an ATG we'll devalue the meaning of what an ATG is meant to mean. Nobody takes the fanboys and nationalist morons seriously... You have to earn greatness.

He beat Ruiz and Barrett who are hardly world class boxers like Jones and Hopkins.

Oh wait your American so youll probably just say there both washed out and no good no more. Just get with the time. Even if they are washed out Calzaghe schooled them. And he can only fight who he gets put in front of him and so far hes beaten everyone.

I am expecting a lot of this from the American fans. What about Mike Tyson, one of your all time greats? Didn't he "Hide" In america for most of his career. And as for Hopkins being old and crap, look at his last fight ffs!

I notice you too are from america. Perhaps if Joe were to apply for U.S citizenship he could also become an all time great in your eyes?

    Maybe

Supermiddle hasn't been around that long, though some good champs were in the division. Could he have beaten Benn, Toney or Roy in their primes. Also level of competition (not Joe's fault, though the same argument has been made against Bhops, and Roy). I just think the short history of the division works against him, as it does against Roy.

I'm undecided, he's certainly a very good fighter (stating the obvious).
