I can admit it, he beat a faded RJJ who had been KO'd twice 4 yrs ago, and he won a SD against a 43 yr old and you're all excited...:rofl
And who was Tyson beating exactly? The only ATG's he faced were Evander and Lennox, and both battered him!
Hahaha... NOPE. BTW, be honest, who are the nationalists here?? I could personally give a **** where a fighter is from. Nationalism is a ****ing disease. Where are you from, fella?
Spinks and Holmes are ATGs and they weren't as old or faded as ones Slappy beat. BTW Tyson was shot when he met Lewis.
I don't mean to have a go at all Americans, but you have to admit a lot of american boxing fans are very dismissive of other fighters achievements, Im from New Zealand BTW
Depends on how you define all-time great. But the win over Jones was basically just a name on his ledger. Jones is badly faded and has done nothing of note since 2003. Don't see why people are getting so excited over it. He has other wins more meaningful than this.
For being one of the greatest ever light-heavyweights (a weight class with a rich history). For fighting in one of the best 175 lb. eras ever and going undefeated at that weight, beating guys like Qawi, Eddie Mustafa, Marvin Johnson, and the Davis brothers. For moving up to HW and beating the champ there. For being one of the more versatile and adaptable fighters you'll see.
I think alot of Americans are generally arrogant about everything, frankly. But what alot of people don't understand is that Americans having this "big dog" kind of mentality about everything allows them to take nationalism for what it is - a joke.
The best fighters generally fight in America. That is fact, and always has been. Anyone disputing that is simply ignorant or stupid.
