 Some people need to be banned from the internet.

  3. Indeed it is you who should be banned for stupid poo-sts:huh, never boxed professional so not qualified to argue about pro game. Im just sick of people slagging the guy off, It is only ******s like you who spill bile onto his legacy. Set your own or shut the **** up and be a fan not an hater!!!:good

I still honestly believe that people dont like calzaghe cos he is an 'arrogant welsh wanker' the same as people dont like amir khan cos he is an 'arrogant taliban ******* with a glass jaw'. Pure ****ing haters, to be fair jeff im picking on you cos im sick of all posters that type pure hate towards boxers, and you type hate towards calzaghe. He may have windmilled and may have fought b-hop and jones when they were old but fact is he beat all comers and was gifted enough to overcome career ending setbacks, nuff said homeboy:tong

Also stop listening to the father and listen to sense and admit your a ****ing journeyman to be. Peeeerick

Jeff actually speaks a lot of sense about Calzaghe. He makes his points well and (sometimes) backs them up with a lot of good logic. I don't agree with him much when it comes to Calzaghe but his point of view is very appreciated.

Agreed, expect for the fact that some of the criticisms by him of Calzaghe are sometimes conveniently forgiven or forgotten for other british boxers. Sometimes he goes to unbelievable extremes to pick holes when let's face it you can pick holes in anyone's career no matter how good they were.

Look I understand your a bit thick. Let me help you out. If I was joining your opinion and swinging off Joe's sack then my record as a boxer would be irrelevant. But because I critisise your sex idol then my opinion is irrlevant because of my boxing career.

I've never once said anything personal about Calzaghe. He's a good bloke and a fine boxer but because your thick as **** you can't seem to grasp the difference between personal insults and making observations of someones boxing career. Why would I dislike welsh people? Some of my favourite fighters have been welsh and my surnames Thomas you dozey twat.

Calzaghe punched incorrectly. Had a less then solid chin. Lacked charisma and has a questionable record which is subject to greater critism (perhaps unfairly) because he's unbeaten. He didn't punch too hard and was champion of an empty division.

Your thick as two short planks so I won't debate this with you further but lets compare my boxing experience with yours? 1-0 to me. Lets compare standing within the sport. 2-0 to me. Lets compare the value of my opinion compared to yours within those in the know on this site and others such as boxrec etc.... 3-0 to me. So really its a little bit embarassing that you accuse me of envying Joe Calzaghe when your desperate to try and score a point on a forum against me.... someone who 'knows nothing'.

:D Very true but then often their not been called the greatest of all time. I can make a great case for Calzaghe been one of the finest (not as good as TFFP's but not a bad second) but I just don't feel he deserves that accolade. That said he's undoubtably one of the greatest WBO champions of all time. He was also a good lightheavyweight.

Every British boxer with the exception of a handful would take Calzaghe's record and achievements every time. That says it all. He is one of the finest.

I agree with that totally :good

I don't think Calzaghe is the greatest, but is definately one of the best British boxers of the modern era without a doubt. Not all his opponents were top, but there was some good opposition, and not all of them were bums so to say he only fought bums is unfair.

I think Calzaghe is certainly within the top 10 British fighters of all time in my opinion. I would have him at about 7th-9th position. He was a fighter who had great all-round attributes and some very good wins on his record - yet he was not tested enough in his 'prime' years which will ultimately be a question mark on his career, couped with some of the woeful 'opponents' he was matched with in this time. A slightly wasted talent, but 99.99999% of fighters would bite your hand off to achieve what he has achieved in the sport.
