yeah man one of the best.. top 5
definately the best UK boxer in recent years since Buchanan
I wouldn't disagree with anyone who said he was the best ever, people who's opinion I respect like Barry Mcguigan and Ricky Hatton and many more think so.

He has a hell of a lot of haters though... haters hate successful winners.. so I expect them to hijack this thread

That's what Britain does it puts down success stories!

I think most prefer to be losers or just get jealous of others doing well!

I'm no expert in british boxing history, but to me he is certainly the best ever british boxer. he was exceptional and A level in every department, a total one off.. special fighter. People say he didn't punch hard.. but that was after he had hand problems at the end of his career!!! for 2/3rds of his career he was a big puncher , knocking almost everyone out as his 46-0 32 KO's suggest, most of his points wins were after he had hand problems, he even knocked down the granite chinned Eubank who said he complemented his punch power. Calzaghe had everything.

Not even remotely close. He fought once a year against Tocker Pudwill at Newport Ice Rink for 10 years. Never tasted defeat so never had to overcome that kind of adversity that great fighters do.

It's a wonderful little thing called truth.

People have short memories. This guy was the laughing stock of boxing for so long.

You clearly are no expert in British boxing history if you think Calzaghe is the greatest British boxer. He's not even the greatest Welsh boxer. Jimmy Wilde, Jim Driscoll and Freddie Welsh are greater Welshmen. You could make a case for Joe being the Greatest Brit boxer post war but then you have Lennox and Buchanan who were imo greater than Joe.

Joe was clearly a great fighting machine but he wasted his career fighting B class guys and had some title defences teetering on embarrassing. The two greatest fighters he fought were past their best, Jones was truly shot to **** and Hopkins imo beat Joe. Calzaghe has a lot of title defences and the 0 but he competed in a poor era and never fought the best fighters at the right time.

:cool:Yes Calzaghe is the best Fighter of all time from Britain, undefeated you can't do better than that LEWIS was Knocked out twice the same as HATTON, Joe beat every one his way and was always fit, and had the skill to win, with a great boxing Brain. He also had the commonsence not to fight when injured.

Whilst you might be a sad wanker who spends his time watching fights from the 20's, if there's one thing you can't do it's score a fight. There is no way in a million years that Hopkins beat Calzaghe you cretin.

 I love annoying twats like you :rofl

Hopkins got outworked by Calzaghe but Calzaghe never landed many clean shots on Bhop. The cleaner, better shots were landed by Hopkins. It wasn't a robbery it really depended on who's work you prefered. Hopkins made Joe hit shoulders and air most of the fight and landed some beautiful sneaky counters. One which put Joe on the canvas, remember :hey
When I watched it live I was getting frustrated at Calzaghe not being able to land clean. He really was sloppy as **** at times with those spasticated looking flurries. Hopkins frustrated the **** out of Joe and all of us watching Joe C fans. Tipical Bhop style tbh.
Plenty of fans had Hopkins winning that fight. Opinions were pretty much split after the fight. I've watched it 3 times and always feel Joe C got the luck. Maybe a draw was a fairer result.

Take the Joe C specs off, ******.
