What has Braehmer ever done? I don't think He has a single win over top-10 opponent in his career. What is his best win.. Gutknecht? Sukhotsky? Or Veit, perhaps. Eubank held BJ Saunders to split decision, beat Abraham, Yildirim, DeGale and Liam Williams. Nothing to write home about, but still superior to Braehmer. Williams was more talented and capable than Veit in my opinion, but to be fair He doesn't have that much of a resume so We can exclude him from the discussion.
To answer the question ... It's all a matter of opinion. But to me, he's overrated. I think he deserves credit for staying undefeated. Had a good chin and workrate. But man, I remember those days of endless low level championship fights against opponents you'd never heard of, again and again. And defending a belt that was viewed as second rate at the time. I think, over time, he gets overrated because of the undefeated record. But a closer look shows the majority of those defences were pretty poor opponents. And he only stuck his head above the parapet to take on the big names of his era, Hopkins and Jones, when both had lost decisively. It's not to say that I think he's no good. I actually think Joe was a decent fighter. His best win is Kessler, IMO, who was a very good - but not great - SMW (I think Lacey was massively overhyped from the start). But he was extremely well managed and protected throughout his career - and we shouldn't forget that.
