Im fed up of chatting about the poor matchup in pacman v mosley and im gonna focus on Pacquiaos rival Floyd Mayweather as i believe his inactivity and average resume is putting no pressure on Pacman.

I believe Joe Calzaghe has a better resume at this present time seen as in floyds retired and i believe in years to come Floyd will get discredited a lot like Calzaghe is at the moment for not testing himself. Every fight Floyd has is in his weigh division and all by his rules. he's never fought out of his backyard.

just a quick poll because i believe Joes resume is at a par with Floyds.

Even though I'm a big Mayweather fan, Calzaghe's resume is just to good.
    Easily top 10 ATG.

Mayweather. His resume is not great, but it's not average either. You don't become a 5 weight World Champion with an average resume.

Although Calzaghe's resume improved significantly near the end of his career.

"Every fight Floyd has is in his weigh division and all by his rules. he's never fought out of his backyard."...Have you only been following Mayweather's career since he hit 147lbs? Completely ignoring the fact that he started his career out at 130lbs...

43 year old Hopkins, Kessler, Lacy, Bika, past it Eubank, Reid, Mitchell, Brewer, Woodhall, etc.

    or

Castillo 2x, Coralles, Hatton, faded De La Hoya, faded Mosley, G. Hernandez, Judah, Baldomir, Marquez, Manfreddy, Gatti, J. Chavez, Corely, I. Hernandez, etc.

Neither guy has a great resume, but Floyd's is clearly better and was built up over 5 divisions as compared to 2.

I think Joe has too many Lacy, Reid, Mitchell, Brewer, Woodhall level fighters to compare. All these are decent fighters, but to me, they are more like, just above Euro level fighters.

A 40 year old Herol Graham was outboxing Brewer before eventually getting stopped.

46 have tried, 46 have failed... He's a gorilla, he's a dawg! Nothing left to prove.
That's what Floyd would say about it. :deal

Every fight by his rules? How about you go back 3 fights and see who made the rules in the De La Hoya fight.

Its also not Floyds fault that he is American, and the greatest fights typically will take place in America.

It took Joe 43 fights to fight outside of Europe (only 2 of them outside the UK) and he fought a declining Hopkins and a shot Roy Jones, so to hold Calzaghe on this high pedastool is a joke.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. 6 titles in 5 weight classes, lineal in 3. Don't even compare his resume to Calzaghe's.

You make it sound like even though Mayweather had a choice, that he still agreed, when its probably more a case of, he had no choice but to give into ODLH's demands, as Oscar was draw.

Exactly, so Floyd wasn't the one calling all the shots as the thread starter has implied he "always" had done. There are also many fights where Floyd has conceded such as weight....but a genuine boxing fan will know this already.

'rumble in the jungle' and 'thriller in manilla' where were these fights?
the point im making is that both fighters are too concerened with keeping thier '0's rather than continue to build great resumes and give the fans of the sport what they want to see.

So you've picked two Ali fights, well done. Now try giving me more. I'll wait. Where was Hagler/Hearns? Pac/Marquez I & II? Ali/Frazier I & II? The list is endless and you know it so give up before I school you kid.

Most recently, a fight of the year candidate Khan/Maidana was held in.....Vegas. Both non US fighters coming to the US to fight. If Mayweather/Pacquiao does happen where is that gonna be?

Calzaghe wanted to protect his 0 you're right although Kessler and Hopkins were risks which he overcame so credit due. The fact is Floyd has not accomplished what he has by protecting his "0". So you're telling me fighting Corrales/Castillo(twice)/Judah/Chavez/N'Dou/Corley/De La Hoya/Hatton/Mosley - amongst others, were all cherrypicked fights?

floyd has a very good resume and joe's resume is crap. i'm by no means a floyd fan but he's had some big fights, starting in '98 vs genero hernandez, and the comparison of the these two fighters on any level is embarrassing. floyd is an immature brat and people want him to lose. this is the only real reason for people to say that he hasn't fought anyone.
