Is Joe Calzaghes resume better than Floyd Mayweather Jr???

Since FLoyd moved up to 147 his resume hasn't been what it could have been, he will go down in history as a great fighter, but will alsways receive criticism unless he takes some serious challenges.

I think the problem is not that every fight is weak, some are solid, but that there seems to be a conscious effort to avoid certain fights. But the claims of greatness and being the best is what gets people's ire up. I think it stands in both Floyd's and Calzaghe's cases. However, the difference is that Floyd proved that he was an elite fighter against world class opposition early in his career, the comp may have taken adownturn, but the foundation was there.

Calzaghe's resume is shít. Froch is probably a Glen Johnson away from having a better resume and an Andre Ward away from shitting all over Joe's.

Which is a shame 'cause Joe's ability, far, far outweighs the names he has on his record.

 

Hopkins performance against Pascal does boost Joey's resume significantly IMO.

Both have far from great resumes, but mayweather just nicks it for me due to the ODLH fight. Without him, Calzaghe would have the better resume IMO

 

Mayweather's becomes far better when he easily defeats Pacquaio.

Hatton (best fighter, wrong weight) and then Kessler (2nd best fighter, in prime, at best weight) are the best two wins across both resumes, as most of Mayweather's opponents are American hype or lightweights like Marquez fighting at WW.

Calzaghe never had a Pacquaio available to fight and destroy unfortunately, Ward (the current P4P number one) came just too late for Calzaghe.

You're going way off topic. My argument was that most great fights take place in America. So how many of them fighter's had "great" fights outside America? Except Ali-Frazier, Ali-Foreman and Leonard-Duran I, can you name me some more? ******. Point proven give up, in this day and age of boxing great fights take place in the USA. Yes he came back and made them promises, but he needed a tune up so took Marquez, all fighters take these tune ups so you can't pinpoint this on the one fighter you envy. Did he not call out Cotto? Oh wait he did but Cotto was too "green" for Floyd. Also the current court case has stopped Floyd signing any fights just of yet, why can't you realise that? Wait untill after the court case to speak about the future.
