Is Joe Frazier overated as a heavyweight?

    Bottom of the top 10, or perhaps top 12. Would beat most heavyweights in history, but might unexpectedly struggle with some of them too.

    True, this.

    But that said, I don't think he's overrated.

    I have him at 9, alltime.

    Jameel McCline would have bounced him just as well , but then Bonavena did it and Frazier wanted nothing to do with Shavers , Lyle , Mac Foster , and even old Folley & Liston. Frazier did avoid the punchers of his own era baring 1 , just like Patterson did in his time and the results were similar in both cases.

    Frazier & Patterson are extremely overrated as heavies , Patterson even more.
    They made Liston and Foreman's punching power become overrated in their own turn.
    Put a Valuev / Lewis / McCall / Vitali with a prime Liston/Foreman and see what happens . Pity its currently undoable.
