Once Fury retires without making defences against anyone notable, the vacated belts will basically be in Frank Warrens arms who will then get Joyce to fight a bum for a world title. So yes he will become a world champion, a legitimate one then the answer is no
Joe Joyce is already the #2 HW without doubt If the belt situation wasn't crap then he'd get one. We have to wait 6 months because a middleweight wanted time off.
He's 37. Just had his first fight against an only slightly shot top contender. No need to rush him into a title fight.
I wouldn't favour him to beat Fury or Usyk who hold the belts but if one or both of them retire while Joyce is still near prime then I think it's definitely possible for him to pick up a title against a weaker title holder or a vacant title. There have been worse world title holders in recent years than Joyce like Ruiz and Martin. So if the circumstances are right he could very well one day be world champion.
Rewind back to Rio 2016 Would the Joyce disbelievers have given him a shot to come home with the gold medal or even the silver I think not But fact is he did come away with a silver medal But he should have come away with gold because they robbed him and gave it to that glass-jawed weasel-faced Parisian Yoka Where's the justice in that? Big Joe is the current interim champion and he's one fight away from becoming the full champ He might not even have to fight for it because the WBO may well promote him to full champ
